Devon Browning is viewed as an outcast and is a victim of physical and emotional abuse from his classmates. After a tragic death in his family, his life begins to fall off course. He eventually seeks revenge by bringing a gun to school and opening fire on his classmates. The film offers an unwavering look at violence in schools today by showing the causes, effects, and consequences of a school shooting.

Did You Know?
Three different hand-guns were used in the movie. One was a B.B. Gun, another was a painted plastic toy gun, and the last was a Hollywood prop gun. The prop gun was also re-used by the filmmakers in Before the Storm (2005), Into the Woods (2008), and several other Z3 Films projects throughout the years. See more

In the Director's Cut version: At the end of the credits a scene where Devon points his gun into a coffin and shoots towards the camera is included. This is the only remnants of an early concept during Pre-Production that was originally thought up to cut down the on-screen gore. It was shot at a funeral home with a real coffin. See more
The Only Way has been officially released in 2 cuts on DVD. Neither of these cuts are exactly as it was premiered in 2004. The two cuts are referred to as "The School Cut" and either "The Director's Cut" or "Re-Cut" depending on where you read about it. The two cuts are substantially different from one another. See more
