Everything You Want and Need From a Show.
1 December 2016 | by yepsteinSee all my reviews

I did it. Finally, I did it. I watched White Collar from the first episode to the last one. A few years ago, I had a TV at home, and I remember coming into the room, with my parents watching it. It wasn't even close to the beginning of the show, but I was immediately hooked. But I was much younger, and couldn't understand the beauty of this show.

These last few months I've been "marathoning" the show, and the show didn't just not lose its touch. It was better than I remember. They managed to keep you on the edge of your seat, even though you usually knew the outcome. They always came up with a new way to con the audience, They always came up with an exciting way to get to the end game. They managed to take love interest, work interest, game interest, good interest, and put it all into every single episode, yet still make it work together, but not just work together. They made it all conflict.

The show is based on the idea of cons, so each episode, individually conned you, and lead up to the end of the season, for one big con. And then in each season, it got more tangled up. As you progressed the con doubled, and then tripled, until the finale, which gave you every possibility of ending, but with closure. And what a finale!? And the greatest part about this show? Is that it's curious, and makes you curious. It teaches you art, history, music, politics, human interaction. Of course there's bound to be some bullshit. But over all it's a learning experience, and a journey, that I believe every person should take.

And if you're wondering, it's worth watching all the way through. I guarantee you will have that inexplicable feeling of "wow". A master piece.
