Storyline

In 1975, twelve year old Jack and his friends on Taylor Drive in Portland, CT spend their days playing kickball, skipping rocks on the river and riding their bikes around the neighborhood. Riding bikes is a way of life for the kids on Taylor Drive, and every kid on the street is judged by which hills in the neighborhood they have conquered on their bikes. Join Jack in his quest to be the first kid from Taylor Drive to be able to ride his bike all the way to the top of the biggest hill in the neighborhood, the hill that separates the "little kids" from the "big kids", Indian Hill. Well though out, personal piece with a real life connection
9 February 2010 | by swimprincess68See all my reviews

I believe this movie was an excellent short film that happened to be produced on a low budget. Not only did the film have a personal connection to the director with a real life plot, it had young actors who looked like all the people they were portraying. It also took place in the same spot that the director, who was also the writer of the film, experienced the events told within the plot. Just like any English teacher or director would tell you, you start by writing what you know, and move on from there; and that is exactly what Jack did. The movie is a personal narrative with the main character, young Jack Kearney, learning the life lesson that all kids have to learn on their own, that to succeed, you must try, try and try again.
