- In the final epic chapter in the story of the Flux, all hope is lost. The forces of darkness are in control. But when the monsters have won, who can you count upon to save the universe?
- The Doctor is split across three time zones, and psychically communicates with herselves to plan against the Sontaran, the Daleks, the Cybermen, the Grand Serpent, and the Ravagers, and stop the final wave of the Flux before it destroys the universe.—Gislef
- Swarm reaches for the Doctor, and she runs and tells the Ood to come with her. The Ravagers figure that the Doctor has nowhere to run.
In the tunnels, the Sontarans open fire on Yaz, Dan, Jericho, and Williamson. Yaz opens one of the doors, and energy lighting out and hits the Sontarans in their probic vents, knocking them out/
The Doctor and the Ood get clear the Ravagers, and the Doctor confirms with the Ood that if she rips off the conversion plate, she'll be pulled back into her universe. She asks if the Ood can find the TARDIS. Swarm and Azure arrive, Swarm asking if she's leaving the watch with her memories behind.
Williamson leads the others off as more Sontarans bang on the doors behinds them. They lead through one door to a planet of lava, and they go back to the tunnels. Yaz finds a door with a written sign saying the door leads to 2021,
The Ood locates the TARDIS, while Azure and Swarm taunt the Doctor with her missing memories, figuring she won't leave them behind. Swarm touches the Doctor as she removes the conversion plate, and she teleports back into the universe on the Lupari ship. Karvanista and Bel are holding off the invading Sontarans, and she phases in and out of the universe.
The group arrives back at the center of the tunnels. Kate steps out, training a gun on them, and scans them for artron energy, and confirms that two of them have had proximity to a TARDIS like the one nearby. When Kate mentions the Doctor, Yaz asks how she knows the Time Lord and Kate explains that she's the leader of the human resistance against the Sontarans, and introduces herself.
The Doctor phases in, and recognizes Kate. She hugs Yaz in relief then wonders how she got there when she was on Karvanista's ship. She phases back to the Ood, and it says that she's there and not there. Azure is also there and holds up the watch. Swarm tells the Doctor that its better than they could ever have hoped, and they have Division the power to destroy the universe, and the Doctor.
Stenck broadcasts to the Daleks and Cybermen survivors of the universe that they must join together to survive the destruction of the universe, He pledges to destroy everyone else.
The Doctor reappears on the Lupari ship, and works out that Swarm's touch and the removal of the conversion plate are causing her to appear in three places at once. Bel warns that the next wave of Sontarans are coming from, and detaches the ship from the Lupari shield around Earth.
At the Dark Camera facility in Chile, the Sontarans have landed, and Stenck receives a report that the facility developed by the humans is adequate for their purposes. The Grand Serpent is with them, and says that it was his idea to come there. A report comes in that a Lupari ship is heading their way.
On the ship, the Doctor pilots the ship to the highest concentration of Sontarans on Earth, and sets a collision course. Meanwhile, the Grand Serpent realizes what the Doctor is doing and tells Stenck. Stenck puts up a force shield stopping the Lupari ship just before it collides with the Sontarans, and announces on the communicator that they should surrender. Bel realizes that the Doctor knew what the Sontarans would do, and the Doctor figures they might get a peek at the Sontaran operations. They'll also buy time for Karvanista to go on a solo mission.
The Doctor phases between the three places, and Azure tells the Doctor that there's no escape. She opens the watch, and the Doctor finds herself on the plain in front of the illogical house. Swarm is there, and says that all of the Doctor's memories and past selves are in the house. She refuses to go in, and Swarm threatens to rend her past memories to dust. He begins, and the Doctor finds herself dissolving. Azure is there, and Swarm says that he can make the Doctor feel so much more and he can do forever.
The Doctor looks around and sonics the doors, and Yaz tells her that it's been a few years since they parted. She says that she's missed Yaz, and Yaz admits that she missed the Doctor. The Doctor recognizes Williamson as well, and he says that he was building the tunnels and found the multiple rips in space and time. Williamson says that he kept records of his exploration, and one journey he saw the end of everything. He thought they would be vulnerable on the surface, and tried to build a city under the surface to protect who he could.
Shaking Williamson's hand, the Doctor thanks him for everything he's done and then has Kate bring her up to speed on the Sontaran invasion. Kate says that the Sontarans are using humans to power their Psychic Command Center, and have taken over the Dark Camera in Chile. Jericho suggests that they recruit someone they left behind, and the Doctor agrees. Kate informs the Doctor that they discovered a Sontaran weakness, that the invaders are raiding corner shops for restorative gasses that they need. She takes everyone to the TARDIS, and explains that she's been trisected across three different dimensions.
The Sontarans go after the corner shops, and Commander Shallo orders his troops as he continues site analysis of the corner shop they've found. He grabs up the chocolate bars, and the Doctor comes in and offers him more sweets. The others are with here, and Dan wonders if the Doctor's plan is to make Shallo sick. Shallo vows that human chocolates will never weaken Sontarans, and Doctor says that two humans will offer themselves as psychic subjects in return for more chocolate. Shallo readily agrees.
In 1967, the Doctor and the others take the TARDIS there and find Claire. Jericho explains that they need Claire's psychic abilities so that the two of them can infiltrate the Psychic Command Center.
The Doctor phases to a Sontaran ship in Chile, where she's imprisoned with Karvanista. She has a vague memory of him from a Division mission, and wonders if he was her companion. Karvanista says that he can't talk because "he" would kill Karvanista, and Karvanista explains that he has an implant in his brain that will inject poison if he talks. The Lupari says that there was a time when he'd do anything for the Doctor, but the Doctor left him. The Doctor says that she doesn't have those memories, and Karvanista angrily says that despite his loyalty, the Doctor came back as if nothing had happened.
The Doctor reappears on the ship between universe, and Azure tells her that they'll decide when she dies. The Doctor sees Swarm working the controls with the Ood's help, and asks Azure what the Swarm warns. Azure tells her that she knows what they want: the end of all spatial objects. Now they have the means, and control over Division gives them control over the final Flux event. Azure has looked in the Doctor's mind and seen what she's most afraid of: the destruction of other things. The Doctor wants species and races to build, but doesn't know why the Doctor is so afraid of the opposite. When the Doctor insists that life must win, Azure asks why. The Doctor says that there's no other reason for existence, and the universe exists for a reason. Azure says that they believe different and their faith is true, and now they will ensure the Flux takes apart the universe, ending with Atropos and the destruction of time. Then the Ravagers will play: rewind the destruction and play it again and again and again. That is what the Doctor and Division did to the Ravagers, and that is how the Ravagers will repay them. They will then summon time as a witness.
Swarm comes over and says that Azure is right, partially disintegrates the Doctor and restores her, and says that the Doctor is the universe. Swarm restores the Doctor, who finds herself back in the cell with Karvanista. The Grand Serpent and Stenck arrive, and Stenck says that his soldiers have killed the Lupari in the shield. As the Sontaran soldiers take the Doctor away for interrogation, Karvanista vows to kill every last Sontaran. Out in the hallway, Bel watches as the Sontarans and the Grant Serpent take the Doctor past.
Inside the Passenger, Claire and Vinder run across the landscape. Vinder finally insists on stopping for a breath, and Claire warns that the landscapes are endless and she's sure that Bel isn't there and all the others are gone. Vinder wonders why Claire is left, and says that the others thought she was insignificant but insists that she isn't. She says that the nearby river is the way to get out. Vinder runs to the river, but is repelled by an invisible barrier. Claire tells him that the barrier separates landscape, and where there are generates endless landscapes but they still have edges. Passengers appear and Claire says that they're the security system. She's been piecing together the connection, and shoots the Passengers with her energy gun.
Claire takes Vinder to a glowing spot in ta hole that she's dug. Vinder realizes that it's a bio-form, a combination of organic and machine and a tech-system. Vinder tells she should teach at the academy how to survive in Passenger forms, and Claire explains that the systems control those steps where Vinder came in. She figures that if they disrupt the systems, the steps will appear and they can get to them if they run, because they're only there for a limited time. The duo disrupt the system and run to the stairs, and are transported to a barren landscape with a Passenger standing there.
Jericho and Claire surrender to the Sontarans, and they ask the Sontaran Kragar what he wants them to do. Kragar hooks them into machines and says they're to psychically evaluate timewaves to determine the time and space coordinates of the final Flux event. He warns that the final coordinates will be an overwhelming psychic experience, and they will die anyway. With that, Kragar activates the psychic load.
The Grand Serpent interrogates the Doctor as to Kate's location, and the Doctor readily admits that Kate is in a torture chamber at the heart of Sontaran command. She asks what species Grand Serpent is, and warns that the Sontarans don't keep their alliance. The Doctor figures Grand Serpent is a binary demispecies, and he's an ex-dictator. Grand Serpent insists he was a beloved ruler, and uses his secondary forms to suffocate the Doctor from within. She says that she's split across three places and Grand Serpent can't get a physical lock on her. The TARDIS materializes and another Doctor comes out and sonics Grand Serpent, freezing himself. Dan and Yaz come out, and the new Doctor frees the original. She then trains the torture device on Grand Serpent, and everyone goes back into the TARDIS.
Seven storeys below, Bel sabotages the system. The two Doctors arrive and tell Bel that they have to go. They run as Sontarans arrive, shooting. Meanwhile, Dan frees Karvanista from his cell. They go to the TASRDIS and it leaves, and Karvanista mourns his people. The Doctor confirms that the TARDIS is deciphering the psychic data being fed to it by a ring that Claire is wearing. Bel hands over the childtech Tigmi she was using and plugs it into the TARDIS control center. It has a log of all Sontaran transmissions including Streck's offer of alliance. The Doctor points out that Sontarans never ally with other species, and the two Doctor make psychic contact with the third doctor with the Ravagers. The other Doctor tell her to focus on the Flux, and they can't fully the Flux because it was made outside of the universe.
The Doctor realizes that the information is something the Ood showed the Ravagers. She remembers that the Flux is made out of anti-matter, and the Ravagers are changing the Flux Generator's trajectory. The psychic connection breaks, and the Doctors realize that they can't hold the psychic connection much longer.
Kragar realizes that there's something different about Claire and increases the psychic load on her. He gets what he's looking for and reports the coordinates to Stenck, and Stenck tells his men that they are to abandon Earth, and the final victory for Sontar is within their grasp. Grand Serpent arrives and tells Stenck what happens, and says that he needs to track any artron energy near Earth. He does so and finds Kate.
Claire and Vinder figure they're in a storage space where the Ravagers keeps the Passengers until they need them. Vinder uses his communicator to contact the Doctor and request help. Bel realizes that Vinder is alive, and the Doctor locks onto Vinder's signal. The Passenger absorbs the storage space, transporting Vinder and Claire back to the steps. One Doctor and Yaz go to the tunnels where Kate is, and the others will rescue Vinder.
Grand Serpent tells Streck that he's not finished on Earth, but Streck doesn't care since Earth will soon be destroyed by the Flux. Grand Serpent tortures one of his captured resistance prisoners, Stevie, as to Kate's location. Stevie eventually gives up Kate's location before dying.
One Doctor, Yaz, and Williamson find Kate in the tunnels. The Doctor warns that when the Flux comes, it could blow all the doors in. Shew finds a safe passage and sends Williamson home, telling him that he saved the world. He salutes them and takes the passage to his own time. The Doctor destabilizes, and the Ood warns the Doctor with him that the destabilization may kill her. It says that the final Flux event has started and can't be prevented.
One Doctor takes the TARDIS to the storage space and sonics the Passenger. She realizes that it's linked to the Ravagers, and says that they don't care about it. The Doctor then takes the TARDIS to the steps and rescues Claire and Vinder. Vinder, Bel, and Tigmi are reunited, while Dan tells Claire that he wasn't late but was hijacked by Karvanista. Karvanista says that he had nothing to do with it. Bel tells Vinder that Tigmi is their baby,
The Doctor in the tunnels tells Yaz and Kate that the Sontarans plan to lure the Daleks and the Cybermen to the final Flux event. They'll be wiped out and the Sontarans will be the ultimate vanquishers. The Sontarans are planning to use the matter of their enemies' ships to absorb the anti-matter of the Flux, and they'll use the Lupari shield to protect their own fleets. The Doctor has a plan, even if it's quite risky,.
The captive Doctor asks if the Ood can minimize the final Flux event. It agrees but warns that its affect may be minimal. She then confronts the Ravers, and Swarm says that the Doctor will be their first sacrifice.
As the Sontarans arrive at the coordinates and shelter in the Lupari shield, Vinder, Bel, Karvanista and one of the Doctors are dropped off by the others. While the other Doctor communicates with Claire and Jericho to use the transmat rings. They do, but Jericho drops his rings as Streck and two of his men arrive. Claire transmats to the TARDIS, while Jericho grabs a gun and shoots the door controls sealing the Sontarans. However, a ricochet destroys his transmat ring.
The splinter group board the Lupari shield, knock out the Sontarans guarding it, and prepare to sabotage the shield. The Daleks and Cybermen ships arrive, as does the Flux. The shield breaks apart, and the Flux destroys all of the amassed ships. Karvanista contacts Stenck and says that he sent a stun pulse to knock out all the Sontaran intruders, and it's for his people. Vinder and Bel take out Lupari ships and knocks out Streck's communicators so he can't order his men to evacuate, and the Doctor contacts Jericho and directs him to a nearby transmat pad. He can't because of the sealed door, and tells the Doctor that he's lived more with her than his previous two decades. Streck breaks in through the door and prepares to execute Jericho, who tells the Sontaran that he won't have time. The Flux destroys the ship and Jericho with it, who calmly accepts his fate.
Everyone has gathered in the TARDIS, and Claire suggests that they use the near-endless matter in the Passenger form to absorb the rest of the Flux. The Doctors summon the Passenger form and the Flux is drawn inside the Passenger.
On Atropos, the Ravers take the Doctor to a stream of unbounded Time, which takes on the form of a Ravager, and says that Swarm has failed. Swarm invites Time to take the Timeless Child as a sacrifice, and Time destroys the Ravagers. Azure drops the watch, and the Doctor picks it up as Time takes on the Doctor's form. Time tells her that the Doctor can leave there, but won't outrun it and the Doctor's time is heading to an end, and it's the master of the forces massing against the Doctor. It reunifies the three Doctors, and finds herself on the TARDIS.
The Doctor takes the TARDIS to the tunnels where Grand Serpent is looking for Kate. Vinder confronts Grand Serpent, and says that he's going to do something better than kill him. Kate steps out and tells Grand Serpent to open Door 7. She draws her gun on him, and Grand Serpent opens Door Seven and walks through. He finds himself on a barren asteroid in exile, and the others lock the door behind him.
The Doctor apologizes to Karvanista at his ship with Vinder and Bel. They then drop Claire and Kate off in 2021. Claire wishes she had stayed with Jericho, and Kate thanks the Doctor for all her help.
The Doctor takes Dan to 2021 Liverpool, who goes back to giving museum tours. Claire finds him and turns down his offer of a drink. As she walks off, Dan goes outside and the Doctor asks him if he needs a lift although she has no idea where she's going.
Once the TARDIS leaves, the Doctor apologizes to Yaz for shutting her out. The Doctor says that she was looking for information about the life she never knew, and wants to tell Yaz everything. However, Yaz goes with Dan to lead him to his new quarters. The Doctor takes the watch out of her pocket, then drops it deep into the TARDIS core after asking the TARDIS to keep it safe where the Doctor can never find it...unless she really asks for it.
