Good humor!!
sriramthestranger19 December 2020
The story is about a middle class guy aspiring to start his own hotel. The narration does not lack pace and keeps you entertained throughout. The climax part is absolutely hilarious. One of best from Telugu cinema!!

Surprised to see high ratings though. To me, this movie is just had an ordinary Indian story - Nothing unique - Nothing great, just showing a regular Indian life. Anyways, 4 stars for decent acting and humour.

A Charming, Small-Town Comedy That's All About The Little Things
shefali-5924420 November 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Middle Class Melodies, directed by Vinod Ananthoju, and starring Anand Deverakonda and Varsha Bollamma, is a film you want to quickly watch again the moment you finish watching it. This is not because the plot or its storyline is something we've not seen before - a lot of the comfort one gets from watching this comedy is from the familiarity of it all.

Heart warming piece of work
naveensankaran1827 November 2020
It is quite common to lift huge furniture and house-hold items using ropes, across floors, while relocating one's home. But lifting an Old grandmother along with her chair?! Sounds crazy right?!

Middle class melodies is about such crazy middle-life-mentalities, which intertwines within one's belief system (social and spiritual). Though the story revolves around the lead charater Raghava (Anand Deverakonda) and his struggle to establish a hotel business with his "bombay chutney" idea, it has much more in it.

With "Guntur" as its heart, the story travels along several layers of relationships and the social and religious belief systems. The screenplay is structured in such a way that there are flavours of emotion on screen from one scene to another, from one character to another. It was as if witnessing Dileesh Pothan's freshness splattered on Telugu cinema!

Goparaju Ramana (as Kondalrao) is amazingly believable as Raghava's father with his simple and realistic portrayal. The way the character is sketched, be it the amount of transparency he shares with his life partner, dealing the middle-life crisis, dealing family issues or making important decisions, Vinod Ananthoju (Director) should be appreciated. His screenwriting was supported nicely by Sweekar Agasthi with his songs and some exciting piece of background scores from RH Vikram .

Varsha Bollamma (as Sandhya) captured my eyes throughout with her portrayal of Raghava's love interest. Her expression of her feelings, her helplessness with both the important men of her life (her dad and her lover), is really commendable. The complete school-life sequences were alive like anything, where Varsha bags the major credit.

Chaitanya Garikipati as Gopal (Raghava's friend) had an equal screenspace as Anand, but with a better character arc (ironically!). His internal realisation with the society and astrology conveys certain subtle message, while majorly keeping the screen alight with his enthusiastic performance.

After her impressive performance in Colour Photo, Divya Sripada as Gopal's love interest, captured our eyes with her performance as the Gautami was tailor-made for her. The subtle reactions that she gives, whilst accepting the reality, proves a bigger character artist in her. Looking forward for more interesting roles from her!

Overall, Middle Class Melodies clearly states that the Telugu Cinema and her audience has changed by a huge magnitude, which is exciting indeed! Funny that both the brothers (Anand and Vijay Deverakonda) chose a food-oriented script as their second film as (one of the) lead actor (remember #PelliChoopulu!)

Pretty Good Cinema. Must Watch it for One time atleast.
harishmadireddi12 December 2020
Kudos to the director for being so authentic to the characters and the region around which the story revolves. Except the hero everyone where pretty good with their performances. However, heros performance in this movie was far more better than in dorasani, he has improved himself but still the uncomfort of lack of screen presence sustained from dorasani, he still didnt get the nack of pulling audience to his emotions, his acting wasnt aunthentic, at times he speaks telangana instead of guntur slang. Its actually a emotional story and it required a pretty good actor with whom the audience must travel but he doesnt seem to grab such attention from the viewers, infact hero friend, heros father and divya(cell phone shop girl) had succeeded with the same. Especially the father, he just eats up the screen whenever he is in the frame thats what an actor brings to the table for a pretty good story. Music was soothing. Coming to the direction, director has done a very good job. The story, screenplay and direction were so good that you will not get distracted much from the story. Last 20minutes reminded me of the nature of malyalam films where the story changes completely due to some kind of butterfly effect. Varshas character seems to be extrovert in the movie because usually introverts loves to chat with a person rather than speaking to them directly but she does that vice versa, i mean she would informed the hero about land through a simple sms. Overall a pretty good one. Lucky fellow sai devarakonda... Banking some good stories under his account without the potential those scripts demand.

There is nothing interesting about the story , no one knows the conflict, few sequences and some scenes are good, All actors did great except Anand Devarakonda, Goparaju Ramana did exceptionally well as Anand's father. Varsha Bollamma is a performer. Locations are very good, Editing is good, cinematography is ok. Music is a minus.

atj-1932014 March 2021
This film is really really good. It's so natural and relatable in a few aspects, like the characters and their reactions to things. Screenplay is very nice as well. Acting is well done by all. Content sprinkled throughout. It's a wonderful film. BGM and camera work also felt very fresh. And with it the cinematography was well done too. Props to everyone

Very entertaining movie. Loved the Father's Character!!!
VamshiGK20 November 2020
Very good family entertainer. Great script and tight narration. Each and every character is dealt with utmost care and every character has a definition in the story. All the stories of each character has an ending. All good actors. Anand Devarakonda was just above average. Need to improve maturity and expression wise. The fathers character is a stealer of the show. He was so great and wonderful acting. Best thing in this movie is the leafs father and mother character. Overall a very well directed film by Vinod.

One time watchable
baluviews20 November 2020
It's better! I mean better than recent roasted movies.

A middle class guy with an idea setting up a hotel in a town. did he success in pursuing his dream? is the remaining part of the film. that's it! Simple. But, Scenes are good for showing the middle class situations.

The script is well written. But, coming to managing the script, director Vinod anantoju is didn't do it well.

First half is good, even though second half is snail's slow, it's watchable.

Great Screenplay! 7/10
vasudevaa13 April 2021
Generally low budget films have screenplays without depth but this movie made me think twice. The screenplay is amazing. Right from the gecko the story flows amazingly. There is no lag and every scene seems to have been put there for a reason. Writers, Janardhan Pasumarthi and Vinod Anantoju have done quite a great job.

Coming to the overall movie, it was very good. It's like the perfect dish where there is the perfect amount of everything. Just like the movie had a perfect amount of comedy, emotion, happiness and it seemed quite good.

The first 30 minutes: The director starts out by building characters with dialogue. This is a good start but a movie is all about showing not telling. When the characters are developed through words and dialogues we feel as if the story is being rushed. We don't even have time to respond to ourselves on whether we like it or not. The first 30 minutes is also quite slow in contrast to us being rushed. This part could've been better but lucky for the movie the rest of it is about to be 10 times better.

The rest of the movie: I have to say the rest of the movie is basically perfect. There is amazing comedy, the story flows well, all the characters have depth and everything else is amazing. You won't feel a single second that the story is being dragged or its boring. Its continuously entertaining forcing to us to watch the whole movie.

Performances: I have to talk about the performances of this movie because of the extraordinary performance of the hero's dad Chaitanya Garikapati. His performaces is literally seamless. There is no way someone could have done better this man. You can rewatch the movie just for dialogues and acting.

One performance I didn't quite like is Anand devarakonda's performance. It was quite bland and his dialogue delivery was just a copy of his brothers\

Overall the movie is a great movie with some great performances and great cinematography. It is a must watch!!!!!!!!

Could have been better

If the movie was 90 - 100 min long instead of 126, it could have been much much better to watch, brilliant ending though

sachchinannam23 November 2020
Watched this movie without giving any 2nd thought and turns out to be worth watching with your near and dear ones'. This movie is very organic void of all logic defying sequences. And all the actors justified their roles with utmost ease.

If only the movie is as entertaining as the climax.
ashishb52420 November 2020
We know by trailer what we're signed for and One hour into the movie there is nothing new or solid point to hold on to. We quickly loose interest in the characters. There's no flow or rythm to what's happening in the movie. Coming to the love story we get exactly what we saw in the trailer there's no extra thing in their story. Yes the Nativity is shown nicely but there's nothing strong for showcasing the village or its beauty. Same in the case of acting, main leads tried to act but there isn't anything to act for. The only new and good thing I liked is few charcters and thier storyline. Even though we have seen these types of troops a lot these days but this film showed them in a new way.
