A show for healing
jasminn_tan9 January 2022
I enjoyed every second of this. Not only is ITS considered a time for BTS to wind down and do things they don't normally do, to ARMYs it's a show of the people we love and support, filled with chill moments, fun and laughter. It's a great show if people are interested in seeing what BTS is like outside of their work, but spoiler alert, there's not much difference because these 7 men are always authentic and they don't hide behind any walls.

Soooop soop soop sooorooooroopp!

It's both soothing and entertaining to watch! No, I'm not going over it. I was binge-watching it again today.

The concept of the show revolves around BTS taking a break from their hectic city lives and traveling to a more peaceful, remote forest location-the Korean word SOOP means "forest"-for a period of relaxation. The tagline of the series, "halfway between vacation and everyday life," is heavily reflected throughout, as the band follows no structured schedules while there and freely pursues various indoor and outdoor hobbies, both together and separately. They can do "things they didn't do because they didn't want to take the time off" or "things they couldn't do because they were too busy" with little interference or interaction from the production staff.

This show is simply BTS being themselves, loosening up, and having fun with one another. I'm glad they did something like this because it allowed them all to do things they'd been wanting to do for a long time. This isn't a show like Run BTS or Bon Voyage; it's much more relaxed, and they showed us sides of BTS we hadn't seen before.

When I'm stressed, I turn to this show for a stress-relieving session and a dose of happiness. So, in short, I could watch this a hundred times and never get tired of it.

Oddly relaxing to watch

Warning: Spoilers
I wasn't sure what to expect: BTS' other variety show "Run BTS" has a lot of hilarious, albeit chaotic, energy to it which I love. So, when I heard that the premise for this show was really the members in the forest, relaxing after an intense period of working right when Covid-19 broke out (and ruining life as we knew it back then), I wasn't sure if I would like it because it sounded like it was a show where we would watch the boys do nothing. However, I ended up loving the show (even though they didn't really do much) and am now binge watching season 2.

The setting for the show was absolutely gorgeous; I'd love to go there someday. I like that everyone was together in one place (in Season 2, everyone is a bit more spaced out). I found the show oddly relaxing and lighthearted which is exactly what I needed. The boys were their usual charming selves, but I liked the idea that they didn't have anything planned for the day other than deciding what they wanted to eat for lunch and dinner (also I really loved all the FOOD that was cooked on the show)!

What I found interesting was how each member started off with the same hesitations as I had ("what the heck are we supposed to do here?" Type of thing), but that eventually they all learnt to enjoy the beauty of just existing without much expectation attached to what they were doing. There was no need to be perfect in the forest. There was no need to work hard there (au contraire, learning to do nothing but enjoy the moment is really difficult to do when someone is constantly expected to work towards achieving certain goals). So, watching the boys rest was oddly relaxing for me.

Watching them enjoy each other's company was really endearing too. You get to see the relationships between the members in a different way. BTS is renown for their brotherly bond, but In The Soop shows that they are friends as much as they are brothers. There were as many sweet and endearing moments (Yoongi going fishing with Jin even though he hates water) as there were laugh-out-loud moments where I had to pause because I couldn't stop laughing.

The members themselves also share stories and you can genuinely see that they were enjoying themselves. We all know they care deeply for each other, but In The Soop showed a really sweet side to each of them, I thought. They were also naturally funny; it felt like watching a group of guys in their mid-to-late 20's enjoying their time at the cottage (which is exactly what the premise set out to do).

I definitely recommend it. I often find myself rewatching Seasons 1 and 2 when I find I need to unwind and destress!

Laughter & chill

When you get into BTS, you realize how hard those boys work. So, to have a show that allows them to relax, sort of, and enjoy doing the things they've wanted to do AND travel to places they wish the could go, or discover hidden jewels in their own Korea, then you know it will be good.

It's entertaining to see them have fun, play games, read, dance, and just be goofy. This season also gave us a look at their improv talents. As well as, Suga the producer! Plus you get to see them grow their bond as brothers. Pure joy! A MUST watch if you've fallen down the rabbit hole that is this Bangtan life. 💜

Very healing and wholesome!

I love watching this show since it's got a lot of healing vibes and wholesome energy from BTS. It's nice to see the group relax, have fun, and try different stuff, it was like how they would be in private when it's just them. It gives a new view of not just thinking that their celebrities but actual people who just need to get away for a few days and relax. I will rewatch this whenever I feel like I need a little pick-me-up.
