Sinopse

  • A guardian angel says a prayer in heaven happily prancing through the field, but a gun shot goes off causing her to run and prays to God to save his soul. Brandon is being released from the juvenile detention center after serving two years. His mother, Kayla is getting his room ready for his return. When she picks him up, she automatically knows something is off about him because he rejects her hug and is standoffish. Brushing it off, she drives them home where he storms off and slams the bedroom door in her face. Kayla believes he just needs space. Sasha, Kayla's best friend, knocks on the door to check on her and Brandon. She suggests that Kayla should plan something nice for him to make him feel more at home and Kayla agrees to the idea. The next day, Brandon hangs out with his only friend, Javion, at the park and they discuss his time locked up. Brandon still doesn't want to talk about it Javion believes it will get better but it's hard for Brandon to open up. Javion leaves to go home and Brandon is alone with his thoughts. Then, Tyrell comes and intimidates Brandon. He tells Brandon that Javion is a snitch and he must take him out because he got one of his boys locked up. Now Brandon is scared of Tyrell and it's clear he has a choice to make. Meanwhile, Kayla is having a dinner party with her friends and family. She asks Javion to call Brandon to see where he is, but he doesn't answer. Javion tells Kayla he doesn't think Brandon is coming, so she storms outside in front of everyone. Sasha checks on her and Kayla still believes there is good in Brandon despite his absence. Sasha reminds her that the juvenile detention center for two years can change a person and she has to be there for him. That's all she can do. The next day, Brandon's father, James returns and he's looking for his son and a second chance. Kayla nearly slams the door in his face, but James wants to take her out to dinner so they can talk. She eventually agrees to go. At Mondo's, James basically attacks Kayla telling her that she is in denial when it comes to Brandon because she still believes he's a good person. James believes he would do better if he moved to Orlando with him. A new life and a clean slate. But this angers Kayla and she storms out, angry that he would even suggest that. The next day, Kayla looks for Brandon but he's gone. She finds a gun in his room. James comes back unannounced to try to make his case again, but he sees the distress on her face. Kayla admits she found a gun in Brandon's room. James is shocked as well and he suggests that he and Kayla work together to talk to Brandon instead of a part. They should co parent to help Brandon and it might help him. Kayla eventually agrees to it. She and James go to the bathroom knocking on the door, where Brandon is having a mental breakdown trying to decide what to do about the Tyrell situation. He's not sure what to do because he doesn't want to kill his best friend. After thinking it over, he finally makes a decision. Brandon goes out in the middle of the night and shoots Tyrell. Back at home, Brandon has a nightmare of the juvenile detention center and everything he experienced there. He can't take it anymore. He writes his mother a note and leaves. That next day, Kayla is doing laundry and she comes across a bloody shirt. She storms into the living room, where James is watching television. He immediately notices something is wrong and she admits she can no longer do this anymore. She wants to call the police, but James doesn't want to put him through that again. Kayla does it anyway and James races off because he doesn't want any part of this. The two police officers arrive and Kayla tells them Brandon has a gun. The officer calls for backup then goes into the house, searching for Brandon. The house is empty. They did, however, find a note. Kayla reads the note out loud and is shocked to find out that Brandon left. Kayla's neighbor races in with Sasha and Javion and they wonder what happened. Kayla admits that Brandon is gone and she throws the note to the ground. Sasha admits that Brandon wasn't worth saving. Kayla walks off because she's overwhelmed. Sasha tries to go towards her but Javion pulls her back. He wants to go after Brandon because he wouldn't hurt him. but Sasha puts a stop to that, telling him how dangerous Brandon is. Suddenly, Officer Byron comes to talk to Kayla to try to get as much information as he can out of her. Kayla points out that Javion is his only friend but she doubts he knows anything. Byron goes to talk to Javion anyway but Sasha is trying to stop him from asking so many questions to her son. Byron asks Javion if Brandon was really in a gang and Kayla overhears this. She gets offended. He finally introduces himself as Officer Byron and he works for the Atlanta P.D. He gives Kayla his card and finally walks off. Kayla turns to the other officers and tells them not to bring Brandon home. The officers assure her that they will do everything in their power to find him and that he's wanted now. Kayla walks to the backyard to collect her thoughts. She prays to God wondering what she did wrong with Brandon. Suddenly, she sees someone familiar and gets shot. Sasha and Javion race towards her as she's bleeding out. An officer hurries in and calls the ambulance. Later that night, Michael is waiting for Officer Byron in a parking lot and he's angry. He wonders if Byron killed Brandon, but he wasn't there. Michael is revealed to be Tyrell's brother and he wants revenge against Brandon for killing his little brother. Byron is a dirty cop and will help Michael kill Brandon, but he needs time to find him. At the end, Michael is revealed to be walking towards Kayla's house.
