Sex & Nudity

  • There is a brief flash of a topless woman in the foreground of a party scene early in the season.
  • Episode 1 at 14:25 there's a brief sex scene. Thrusting and heavy breathing is shown. Only nudity seen is from the chest up. Lasts only three seconds.
  • Ep 2. Al Ruddy and his girlfriend begin to have sex yet are interrupted by a phone call, no nudity or intercourse take place.
  • Talk of how part of casting is based on a celebrity's status, one of those being who you had sex with or an affair with.
  • Ep 4. The end of the episode shows man and woman sit at a table talking about why they chose Hollywood. A moment later he is seen putting his shirt and suit jacket on while the woman sleeps topless on a bed (no nudity shown, as she is prone) implying sex.
  • It's strongly implied a woman is having an affair with her co-star. Devastating her husband.
  • Ep 8. James Caan moons Marlon Brando and Al Ruddy as a prank. His bare buttocks are shown for a split second.

Violence & Gore

  • A man beats another man after he tries to steal a woman's purse.
  • Some mafia related violence; threats, beatings, and shootings. Most is brief yet occasionally graphic.
  • A man shoots the back window of two main character's car as a message to not make The Godfather. Both are okay


  • Lots of "F Bombs.
  • Profanity is used throughout the series ranging from the hell all the way to the f word.
  • Ep 3. A man makes a degrading remark about a man's wife to his face after she makes an unpopular suggestion for the movie.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • Some episodes contain scenes of use of cocaine by a major character.
  • Many characters consume alcohol with one leading character having a mini-bar in his office.
  • Due to the time period, almost every character smokes at least once.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • A man discovers a dead rat in the sleeve of a book in his bed. Quite an alarming moment. Though his reaction can be seen as humorous.
  • Many characters are seen having their jobs at risk as well as risking their lives occasionally. Many scenes are quite intense and tense despite the outcome being widely known.
  • Two characters are shot at by a mobster through their back car window. Both survive and was not meant to kill but to send a message.
  • Joe Gallo is a rather intimidating and spooky character, using any means necessary to get his way. He comes off much like a horror movie villain at times.
  • Charlie Bluhdorn though a moral person, is a very intense character and he often yells and hurls insults at others. Though most of it comes off somewhat humorous.

Violence & Gore

  • The shootings of Joe Columbo and Crazy Joe Gallo are both depicted. Blood is seen with both shootings.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • The shooting of Joe Columbo is quite intense as it comes out of almost nowhere and Joe is confined to a coma. Very emotional.
  • The shooting of Joe Gallo is quite intense as well, as two men open fire on him and his family at dinner.
