Crazy Credits

Some episodes have different versions of the opening theme. In the Fiona & Cake episodes, it is a gender swapped version of the regular intro with a woman singing the theme song. The episode A Glitch Is a Glitch, the opening is CG animated. In Food Chain, the opening has all the characters with Finn and Jake's faces and the theme song is sung by a different singer as well. Alternate Versions

DVD releases distributed by Warner in the UK contains edited versions of the episodes and some of them are even missing in its entirety in season 2 and 3 DVDs. Those releases received a PG rating by the British Board of Film Classification (meaning they're suitable for 8-year-olds), with a few "episodes" receiving a U (appropiate for 4-year-olds). In 2019 Manga Entertainment announced the release of unedited Blu-Rays and DVDs and all of them were about to get a PG as well. Looks like the distributor considered that those were rated already by the BBFC so they didn't need a re-submission, without considering that the BBFC never reviewed some scenes that could have raised the rating, including the use of the term "spaz" in the season 1 episode "His Hero". Looks like yours truly flagged that to Manga and finally the BBFC gave a 12 rating to the episode (and therefore to the season) for "discriminatory language". However, seasons 4 and 5 uncut (which were never released before in home media in the UK) received an actual PG, because they considered episodes like the scary "Too Old" or the innuendo-filled "Apple Wedding" or "Frost & Fire" to be appropiate under the "mild comic violence, language" tag (source: BBFC.co.uk). All of this means that the season 1-5 pack that Manga plans to release will receive a 12 (officially) just for one second within 102960 seconds (=1716 minutes) of content (source: manga.co.uk). Cartoons like this come once in a decade!
22 September 2010 | by he_is_sparticusSee all my reviews

I very rarely find anything on TV or in film that makes me laugh as frequently and unexpectedly as this show. Adventure Time is a well needed breath of life into cartoons. What impresses me most is that the humour is very mature but unlike other shows of that nature, for example Ren & Stimpy, it's still completely for the children. That's where the magic lies. When watching you become a kid again, immersing you in the imagination all of us shared as a youngster.

The simple, but I think fantastic, hand drawn animation cements the feeling that this is no ordinary cartoon. It oozes with great characters and settings. Everything about Adventure Time shows all the love and care invested it by Pen Ward. I'd recommend this show to any cartoon lover and anyone who's still a kid at heart.
