Debug (2015) Review

David Hewlett has built a solid career as a performer. Weve seen him in a few serious gems including Cube Splice Haunter Rise of the Planet of the Apes and popular scifi series Stargate SG1 Stargate Atlantis and Sgu Stargate Universe. Hes extremely solid in front of the camera. Debug the third project that hes written and directed will hopefully serve as a reminder that sometimes its best to stick with what youre proven to be skilled at and avoid the call to step outside of the good old comfort zone.

Sense8: Will You Stay Connected to The Wachowskis' Netflix Thriller?

Co-exec-produced by The Wachowskis and J. Michael Straczynski (Murder, She Wrote, Babylon 5), the mysterious drama — which hit the streaming giant on Friday — centers on eight individuals across the globe who are connected by a strange vision.

Before we get your thoughts on the series premiere, here’s a brief recap of what went down in the debut hour:

The Originals Adds Elyse Levesque as a Recurring New Witch

We're still a bit shocked at how much we're enjoying "The Originals," and if you are, too, you'll be interested in hearing about the latest witchy woman to join the cast in a recurring role.

Per TVLine, Elyse Levesque (pictured; Slumber Party Slaughter, "Sgu Stargate Universe") has been cast as the redheaded witch Genevieve and will first appear in Episode 1.13. The seductive and deceptive Genevieve returns to New Orleans with a mysterious agenda and some unfinished business with Rebekah (Claire Holt) and Marcel (Charles Michael Davis).

Considering that a deep, dark secret was hinted at by the former lovebirds in last night's mid-season finale, we're assuming Genevieve is somehow involved in that, but only time will tell.

"The Originals" returns on January 14th with Episode 1.10, "The Casket Girls."

Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. casts David Conrad in recurring role

With cameras rolling on the first season of Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. as it edges closer towards its September premiere, we should probably expect to hear plenty of casting announcements for recurring and guest roles on the Joss Whedon-produced Avengers spin-off over the coming weeks. And to get us started, TV Line has revealed that David Conrad (Ghost Whisperer, CSI: Miami) has landed a recurring role in the ABC show, and while his character is being kept under wraps, the site notes that "the show has been casting the role of a brilliant and quirky scientist that matches Conrad’s description (i.e. male in his 40s)."

Now, whether this is an original character, or a familiar face from the Marvel universe, I guess we'll just have to wait and see...

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is set to get underway in the States on September 24th, with Marvel Cinematic Universe

Meet Agents of Shield’s Melinda May

Check out a new character profile for Joss Whedon’s “Marvel’s Agents of Shield”, this time focusing on former “ER” and “Stargate Universe” star Ming-Na Wen’s Melinda May. I remember when they were casting this character, and I think it wasn’t supposed to be an Asian woman. I also think this is the first time Wen has played an asskicking character, but I could be wrong. Her fighting style kind of reminds me of Scarlett Johansson’s The Black Widow, using speed and athleticism instead of brute strength. Prepare for an epic adventure that showcases the hope and wonder of the human spirit. This is a world of Super Heroes, aliens and the unusual – of action, spectacle and world spanning stories. The show will speak to the human condition through the lens of our very human, non-powered S.H.I.E.L.D agents – that together we

Meet Agent Melinda May in Marvel's latest Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. featurette

With just a couple of months to go until its premiere in the States, ABC and Marvel Television have released another video featurette for Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., which introduces us another of Joss Whedon's newly-created characters, Agent Melinda May. Portrayed by Ming-Na Wen (Stargate Universe), the character is described as a "hard-core soldier with crazy skills when it comes to weapons and being a pilot, but her experiences have left her very quiet and a little damaged." Check out the featurette after the official synopsis...

Fresh from his role in the summer’s box office smash Marvel’S The Avengers, Agent Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg) returns to the worldwide law enforcement organization S.H.I.E.L.D. He puts together a small, highly trained, team of Agents to tackle the cases that haven’t been classified yet, the new, the strange and the unknown. That team consists of straight arrow Agent Grant

Remember how many disaster flicks there were back in 2012 due to that whole Mayan thing? Well, one of them, Seattle Superstorm, is hitting VOD and DVD on August 27, 2013, and we have its new official trailer right here.

The film, which aired on Syfy in March of 2012, was directed by Jason Bourque and written by David Ray and Jeff Renfroe.

Featurette, Clip, TV Spot, and — Zombies in Defiance?

Yes you read that correctly. There is a zombie threat in Defiance. Well, it looks like there is an outbreak of hemorrhagic fever in the Defiance game, which makes the victims certainly look and sound like zombies, and there is a threat that the plague may make it to Defiance the town, featured in Defiance the show.

To explain it better, here’s the trailer from the Defiance game:

Trailer: Defiance – The Plague

We’ll have to wait and see if that fever gets contained or if we’ll be seeing some crossover drama in the remaining five episodes this season. That’s five including tonight’s, for which you can prepare by watching the “Shooting the Shtako” featurette discussion between showrunner Kevin Murphy and the newly-adventurous Stahma, Jaime Murray; the TV spot for the new episode; and the first three and a half minutes of the episode, which Syfy

Stargate Sg-1 Retrospective Review – Children Of The Gods

Out of the three franchises with ‘Star’ in the title, Stargate is the most overlooked. While it has its dedicated fan base it never reached the heights of the others despite its 17 season run (admittedly this was over 3 shows but still). For me though it was the one I loved the most, from the first episode I saw (Tin Man) right up to the finale of the second spin off Stargate Universe, this show just clicked with me.

Now I’m going to take a look at each episode, right back from the first. I aim to do one of these a week, so with the amount of episodes produced this should conclude in 2076 or thereabouts. I did give a lot of thought to starting with the original movie but decided that due to the recasts and the different production team I would just start with Sg-1. Maybe I’ll

'Rookie Blue' Season 4 premiere recap: 'Surprises,' indeed

The rookie cops of Division 15 may have more experience now, but they still can land in a heapin' helpin' of trouble.

Thursday's (May 23) Season 4 opener of ABC's "Rookie Blue," titled "Surprises," demonstrated that amply. For starters, there was the expected front-and-center story of Officers Andy McNally and Nick Collins (Missy Peregym, Peter Mooney).

Right off the bat, they were seen immersed six months later in the undercover operation they left everything and everyone behind for -- including their respective, fellow badge-wearing loves Sam Swarek and Gail Peck (Ben Bass, Charlotte Sullivan) -- at the end of Season 3.

That case would be closed in the first hour of Season 4, but not before a new bond between Andy and Nick made itself known ("It hasn't all been bad," he said as their job was winding down, met by her warm smile). And not before each of them took some blows, quite literally.

Jeffrey Bell quashes Luke Cage rumours for Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D

Since the trailers first started to land for The Avengers TV spin-off Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D, speculation started to grow that J. August Richards was to be playing Luke Cage in the show after displaying a lot of the same powers as well as physical attributes. However the show's Executive Producer Jeffrey Bell has laid rest to those rumours in an interview with IGN.

When asked about Richards, Bell said, "he’s so good. He’s so good, because we were looking for this character M-- I almost said his name. It’s not the one people are talking about."

IGN do note in the interview that the "M" sound Bell made could be more of a "hmmm" as in he wasn't sure whether he could say or not.

He goes on to say that he is playing "an interesting Marvel character" and that may

Hey Joss Whedon, You Owe Us a Lesbian! How About One of These S.H.I.E.L.D. Agents?

Tags: TV ArticlestelevisionAgents of ShieldMing-NaJoss WhedonElizabeth HenstridgeChloe BennetWAPIMDb

Did you know Joss Whedon is on Twitter now? Yep, @JossActual: that's really him! When I think about Joss Whedon, I think about how awesome it is to have a crazy-talented, unabashed feminist man writing complicated, empowered female characters. Like Buffy, of course. Like Black Widow. Like Echo. I also think about how he brutally murdered Tara Maclay and broke mine and Willow's hearts forever and neither of us are ever, ever going to be over it! Ever! But I've decided to let Joss make it up to me. His new ABC show about Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. now has an official trailer and official character photos, and after taking a look at these badass women, I think Joss can finally make good on that lesbian he owes us.

First, the trailer:

And now, the character posters. First, there's Ming-Na Wen as Agent Melinda May.
