Sex & Nudity

  • Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy wear very revealing outfits.
  • The Joker and many of the inmates will occasionally say some suggestive things, however nothing too graphic.
  • In a Therapist interview, one woman says that a psychopath brutally murdered 20 women and left them all in a certain "Position".

Violence & Gore

  • If this game were a movie, it would be rated PG-13 for Sequences of Violence throughout, and some Disturbing Images
  • it should be stated that Batman never kills anybody, however the inmates and villains will.
  • There is an occasional dead rat on the floor.
  • Realistic combat with Batman: he punches, kicks, breaks things, and knocks out several henchmen and villains. Some of Batman's knockout moves can be brutal, such as breaking bones (this is not very graphic).
  • Batman's costume can rip and he can gain some cuts and bruses on his face from combat. No blood seen.
  • Some of the henchman use machine guns and sniper rifles to shoot at batman.
  • A few deaths from explosions throughout the game but no blood/gore as a result, just the victim on the ground.
  • A character is missing a hand and it is replaced by a hook. You "hear" the man lose his arm over an interview tape.
  • Occasional other instances of violence, but nothing too bad.
  • The game is definitely dark, but its not that violent and really isn't as bad as some people say it is.

  • Curse words like Bitch, Damn, Hell, and ass, are heard , however they are infrequent. Oh My God is heard sometimes.
  • Some characters are about to say a curse word but don't finish, like "Son of a!"
  • There is one instance where a character is about to say the F word but is interrupted like "What the Fuhh-ahh!" (this is easy to miss)

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • Before you find Comissioner Gordon you have to track him down by following his favorite tobacco product, Wild Country, by extracting samples of it on the ground and air.
  • The Scarcrow uses a toxin that causes you to become paranoid and schizophrenic, and it also triggers all of your fears.
  • The Joker uses a toxic laughing gas that causes the victims to laugh and their mouth stretches out into a wide grin like The Joker's face (not seen, but described)
  • One character is an alcoholic and another almost always has a cigar.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Bane and The Joker use a toxin called Venom, and it turns them into giant, muscular beasts.
  • Zsasz's voice is very menacing and scary. He could scare younger players.
  • The Joker lets out the criminally insane (super insane, straight jacket type) criminals and they are very creepy looking and sounding.
  • Killer Croc is very scary looking, and he is always saying that he will find Batman, tear him apart, and eat his bones. Also, his layer is in the sewers and he jumps at you from under the water and it can be very frightening.
  • The game, much like the movies, is very dark and violent at times, however there is no gore and hardly any blood.
  • 13+ for intense sequences of brutal yet stylised violence, and some disturbing imagery.

The Parents Guide items below may give away important plot points.

Violence & Gore

  • When The Joker is defeated at the end of the game he has some cuts on his face, and some missing teeth, from being beaten by Batman.
  • In a cutscene, you see men get transformed into monsters from the drug Titan. The transformation is gruesome with the men mutating inhumanly large muscles, bones growing out of there skin, and growing fangs. No blood is seen however.
  • Scarecrow is grabbed by Killer Croc and dragged off under water. No violence shown.
  • In the cutscene prior to the climatic boss battle, Commissioner Gordon is revealed to be strapped to a chair that is elevated and overlooking the fight. He is electrocuted to demonstrate what will happen if Batman fails to defeat the Joker, but it isn't particularly upsetting. Just a quick groan from Gordon.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • In order to find Comissioner Gordon you have to track Frank Boles' whiskey air contamination, but the trail goes cold when you find Boles dead.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Dr. Young is killed by an explosion.
  • There are 3 sequences in the game where you encounter Scarecow, and is put into a 'nightmare' based on different fears. The first 2 are Bruce's fears about his parent's death and the 3rd is the players fear, as the game presumably 'fails' on the player. These sequences are quite frightening because his alias says he is obsessed with triggering fear in others, and when you confront him he uses his gas on you and your schizophrenic visions can be frightening.
