Trivia

The names of the two ROTC cadets are "Benedict" and "Arnold." This might be a reference to American Pie Presents: Beta House (2007). Both Steve Talley, who portrays Lt. Dirk Arnold in this movie, and Nic Nac, who portrays Corporal Benedict in this movie, portrayed college frat students who drank, partied, and had sex. But, in this movie, they portrayed "traitors" as ROTC cadets at a college, where partying, drinking, and sex was not allowed. Benedict Arnold is famously known for being a traitor, as he was an American Revolutionary General, who defected to the British side in 1780. See more »

Goofs

During the war games, there is a scene where three camouflage clad girls are standing in a lake enticing a group of soldiers to come skinny dipping with them. The girls remove their shirts, one of which is now bare breasted, the other two having on a black and flesh colored bra, respectively. The soldiers are then shown running into the water and frolicking with the girls, who are all shirtless, and are not holding any of their removed clothing. In a following quick cut distant shot, the three girls are all shown once again with their tops back on, without having had any time to pick up their shirts and get redressed. See more »

The new actor they got to play van doesn't do the role justice, the story was boring and lame with only one or two good laughs and the acting was just lame. This was just a way to use the Van Wilder name to make a ton of money off the DVD because it would do terrible with another name. The original was great and trying to bank of a success is just stupid when it comes to this series. Its not the worst sequel i have ever seen or the worst "teen" movie but its up with the worst. It would have been a lot better it was another spin off and not a prequel. The prequel method of movies is one of the worst a series can suffer from. My final thoughts are if your a fan of the original just leave this on the shelfs and don't worry about seeing it, it will be on TV soon enough anyway.
