X-Men: Apocalypse: 10 Ways It’s Not As Bad As People Think

X-Men: Apocalypse: 10 Ways It’s Not As Bad As People Think
The X-Men franchise is inconsistent when it comes to the quality of the movies. But after the critical and commercial successes of X-Men: First Class and Days of Future Past, the series seemed to have found its rhythm. However, all that fan goodwill was destroyed with the release of X-Men: Apocalypse. The movie is considered one of the worst X-Men movies due to its corny dialogue, subpar special effects, and nonsensical plot.

But despite the film's bad reputation, there are still plenty of fascinating moments that audiences can enjoy. Between taking advantage of the fun 1980s time period and exploring the complex emotions of characters like Magneto, Apocalypse is enjoyable if fans can ignore some of the film's glaring flaws.

Kevin Bacon Cast as the Villain in The Toxic Avenger Reboot
Kevin Bacon definitely isn’t a stranger to horror or being the bad guy since he did end up being one of the many that fell victim to the killer in the first Friday the 13th, and he did star in the movie Tremors with Fred Ward and Michael Gross. He’s also starred in X-Men: First Class as Sebastian Shaw and Ripd with Ryan Reynolds, so he knows how to play the part of a villain. Any mention of Elijah Wood as the villain for the reboot of The Toxic Avenger appears to have been in error since it’s been established

Kevin Bacon to play the villain in ‘The Toxic Avenger’

Kevin Bacon to play the villain in ‘The Toxic Avenger’
Kevin Bacon has joined the cast of Macon Blair’s ‘The Toxic Avenger’ reboot at Legendary Pictures.

Bacon joins the already cast Peter Dinklage, Jacob Trembley and Taylour Paige.

Written and directed by Blair, the film is said to be a “contemporary reimaging” of Troma Entertainment’s successful 1984 low-budget action-comedy, Troma’s Lloyd Kaufman and Michael Herz will serve as producers.

Drawing parallels to an eco-friendly ‘Deadpool’, the original centred on a struggling everyman after he is pushed into a vat of toxic waste, he is transformed into a mutant freak who must go from shunned outcast to underdog hero as he races to save his son, his friends and his community from the forces of corruption and greed.

Kevin Bacon Is the Villain in The Toxic Avenger Reboot

Kevin Bacon Is the Villain in The Toxic Avenger Reboot
Kevin Bacon is set to face Toxie in Legendary's upcoming reboot of The Toxic Avenger. Currently in production with Macon Blair writing and directing, the reimagining of the Troma Entertainment classic will star Game of Thrones favorite Peter Dinklage as a new incarnation of "the first superhero from New Jersey." Jacob Tremblay and Taylour Paige are also a part of the movie and the cast is gearing up to start filming later this month.

Kevin Bacon has been tapped to play "a slick (and likely over the top) villain." Just last week, there were reported rumors of Elijah Wood boarding the project to play the antagonist, described as the head of a shady company who "embarks on a murderous spree to become as powerful as Toxie." It's unclear if this is the role Bacon has been cast in, but as the call sheet doesn't include Wood's name, it could be

How Wolverine Can Get Drunk Explained by a DC Comic?

How Wolverine Can Get Drunk Explained by a DC Comic?
Marvel Comics' Wolverine is a character that needs absolutely no introduction. The creation of Len Wein, Roy Thomas and John Romita Snr, Wolverine (aka James "Logan" Howlett) first made a brief cameo appearance in 1974's Incredible Hulk #180, before debuting fully in the following issue #181. And from the start, fans knew he was almost indestructible due to his mutant healing factor and Adamantium skeleton. His powers would have one assume that it would be impossible for Logan to get drunk. But he can, has and does do that in past comics. Now, a new DC Comic, of all things, may have explained why Wolverine can fly 6 sheets to the wind.

Wolverine's debut was against none other than the titular lead of the Incredible Hulk book, ol' Jade Jaws himself. This was the start of a storied rivalry that even bled over into Marvel Comics' parallel Ultimate Universe, where the Ultimate iterations

How Thor Changed the Marvel Cinematic Universe

How Thor Changed the Marvel Cinematic Universe
Marvel’s Thor, the first theatrical live-action film to feature the comic book giant’s version of the Norse God of Thunder, opened in theaters a decade ago, on May 6, 2011.

Directed by Kenneth Branagh and starring a then little-known Chris Hemsworth in the title role, Thor was the fourth film in the still-nascent Marvel Cinematic Universe. It was also — as we look back at it now — a pivotal one in the development of the MCU.

“I’m very proud of my part of it,” Branagh told us a couple of years ago about his handling of Thor. “Which was providing a sort of backbone that they could comically riff off, but at least it originally contained some of the high stakes Nine Realms import that that larger mythology has to have as well.”

Thor took the franchise off the Earth for the first time and into the cosmic side of the Marvel mythology,

15 Movies To Watch To Get Excited For The King’s Man
With Matthew Vaughn having directed Kick-Ass, one of the riskiest comic-book movies ever made, and X-Men: First Class, which totally redeemed the mutant franchise, the director is a big name in comic book movies.
