    Let down my low expectations

I didn't believe it was any worse than I thought it could be, boy was I wrong. It was terrible, it's about an actor recast on a hit show trying to make a name for himself once again. This time he stays with two producers Derek and Colin that had something to do with his exit. After a stint in prison, he makes good way to the producers' house and pretends to be an expected houseguest.

What ensues is bed hopping, a tape and a lot of messy drama.

Then the film tries to bring it home with honesty and friendship but it's just flat. There is no point to this, and it's undone consistently by melodrama and subpar acting.

It's not going to win any Awards or anything, but it's something to watch and make fun of.

Excellent satire cum spoof of multiple genres

A sharp rift on All About Eve with shades of soap opera antics and funny funny plots twists. Sure the style is pure melodrama but it is smoothly directed and performed with honesty.

Lead actor Dylan Vox playing Shawn/Boyd is hilariously over the top with a damn sexy smile. He's a "spanking" good time.

Peter Szeliga (Derick) and Bruce L. Hart (Colin)(also credited writer) were assets to the production. Art direction; brilliant colors and attractive scenes. Rebekah Kochan playing Shelia deserves mention for her southern white trash rendition.

Director Paul Hart drives the story at a good pace. The tasteful affaire de coeur between the boys are good, and in one key scene Mr. Vox strips off for a romp with full buns bouncing. Funny and sexy at the same time is a hard thing (no pun) to keep up.

This is the sort of film that begs for a sequel. Dudes, treat your self to a heap of gay campy fun. Rent it!

This so bad ,... but good enough to kill time on.

There are three leads in the film. The main lead is so bad an actor, makes me wonder if this guy is acting bad or really as bad as he appears to be. His over acting is to the point of being annoying in parts of the film. He virtually spoils the film. The two other leads were passable, a bit overacted. The supporting cast is your typical fill of campy gays. If you follow the film series Eating Out, you will recognise the female actor playing a similar character.

Overall the film is OK if you overlook the main lead. Typical campy gay film. Accept it for what it is and have 1hr40min to kill. Not so bad that I would be compelled to fast forward.

    Beyond Awful

Thought the movie would be light silly entertainment - wrong.

An elementary school could have pulled this off better.

Sadly, the: Writing = Absolutely Awful.

    Acting = Atrociously Awful.

Sexually Stimulating = Not in the least.

The setting and premise are not believable.

Amazingly, someone actually spent some money to produce this.

If I was an actor in this movie, I would have walked-off once I realized how Beyond Awful it was turning out. I would not want this on my IMDB résumé.

I seldom am motivated to review movies; this was needed to SAVE PEOPLE the time they will never get back. Life is too short for any of it to be wasted watching this 2009 Homewrecker.

    Shot down by bad casting

The premise of this movie is that a would-be actor insinuates himself into the life of a gay couple who have been signed to write and produce a cable reality show. There was plenty of room for this to go somewhere, but it just doesn't work, due at least in part to the fact that the wannabe actor, supposedly a former nerd who's become a hunk, isn't nearly as attractive as he (or the casting director) apparently thinks he is. He just comes across as a really annoying person, full of himself and tolerated for no apparent reason, who hangs around the nice couple's house and concocts lame schemes to break into their show. Alas, he's no Lucille Ball, nor is the film a "Man Who Came To Dinner." The story limps and stumbles along until, evidently sensing the end is near, it makes a desperate attempt to become a sort of '40s 'noir' (as directed by Douglas Sirk?), but it just doesn't make it. The supporting players are actually very good, but the 'star' is so unappealing that the film's good intentions never quite manage to inflate into anything worth watching.

    • Trivia
Dylan Vox confusingly played a character named Colin (with one L) in his TV series "The Lair" and in "Homewrecker" Bruce L. Hart plays a character named Collin. Because of this the producers almost changed the character name of Collin in "Homewrecker" to Jason.
