Storyline

A woman Marine in an outlying area of family housing aboard the Marine Corps Base, Quantico, Virginia, finds bloody water spraying from a shower head; Gibbs and company investigate; in a holding tank in the water-supply system, Ducky and others find both a body and the URL of a website, which yields clues. Palmer says that something is missing, and Duck says that it disappeared while the victim was still alive. Gibbs and Tony find a second body with a second URL and a personal greeting; a girl singer helps. The clues suggest more deaths. Gibbs receives a strange phone call; Ducky makes a psychologic profile on the unknown bad guy, and McGeek makes a significant discovery. A second man dies. Gibbs calls a suspect to his chat room, where the suspect runs into an unexpected problem and yields to it. The gang figure out the game, then they show up at the next site, where Gibbs realizes who the real bad guy is, so he and the others nab him. Written by DocRushing

Trivia

This show referenced a couple horror movies by naming all the characters in the show after horror movie characters: The video director's name was Sam Loomis - also the name of Michael Meyer's psychiatrist in Halloween (1978) who was himself named for a character from Psycho (1960). Billy Cole the other band member is named the same as the main character from Fright Night (1985). Marine Sargeant Jack Burrell (Alice's husband) also shares the same name as Kevin Bacon's character in Friday the 13th (1980). Janitor Harry Cooper shares the same name as the main character from the original Night of the Living Dead (1968). Bob Simms shares the same name as Lynda's often referenced but never seen boyfriend, Bob Simms, in Halloween (1978). Tommy Doyle is the name of the drummer in the band. Tommy Doyle is also the name of the little boy Jamie Lee Curtis' character is baby sitting in Halloween (1978). During interrogation Mr. Loomis, mentions someone named Sally Hardesty. Sally Hardesty was the name of the main character in the The Texas Chain Saw Massacre (1974). The marine at the beginning is named Marine Sergeant Alice Hardy. The main character from Friday the 13th (1980) was named Alice Hardy. Rose Woodhouse, the female lead singer, is a shortened form of Rosemary Woodhouse, the main character from Rosemary's Baby (1968). See more »

Extremely Clever Episode
28 October 2008 | by See all my reviews

Uses themes of old and modern horror films. A lot like Se7en, a killer playing a game with the police. Cleverly mixes in names and horror elements from from famous horror films.

Sally Hardesty - The Texas Chainsaw Massacre

Tommy Doyle - Halloween

Rose Woodhouse - Rosemary's Baby

Sam Loomis - Psycho

a really tense and suspenseful episode that makes references to other serial killers as well.

One of the best NCIS episodes IMO.
