What Seth Rogen’s Working on Next, from ‘Pam & Tommy’ to ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’

What Seth Rogen’s Working on Next, from ‘Pam & Tommy’ to ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’
While some of his jokes haven’t always aged well among some audiences, Seth Rogen, now 39, certainly has. The comedian has racked up hit after hit, starting with the cult favorite series “Freaks and Geeks” in 1999. After minor roles in “Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy” to “The 40 Year-Old Virgin,” Rogen proved his leading man prowess with 2007’s “Knocked Up,” followed immediately by the critically acclaimed high-school comedy “Superbad.” Rogen’s affable straight-man persona continued in “Pineapple Express,” “This Is the End,” and “Neighbors,” with more dramatic roles including “50/50,” “Take This Waltz,” and “An American Pickle” adding to Rogen’s prolific and well-rounded career.

As for how some of his sometimes foul-mouthed, politically incorrect comedies have withstood the test of time, Rogen said on “Good Morning Britain” that it’s simply “the nature of comedy” for some humor, especially of his button-pushing variety, to curdle as time progresses

Seth Rogen Details Anti-Semitic Rant He and Jonah Hill Experienced in an Elevator
Seth Rogen’s recently published, candid collection of essays “Yearbook” is filled with stories, harrowing and hilarious, from the frontlines of his days in Hollywood as a comic and actor. One such tale to emerge is an anti-Semitic tirade he and actor Jonah Hill experienced in an elevator in Las Vegas, where they ran into comedian Eddie Griffin. (Via Uproxx.)

“I’m glad I saw you guys,” Eddie Griffin said, according to Hill in a chapter of “Yearbook,” when bumping into Rogen and Hill. “I saw your movie. The high school movie,” Griffin said.

“I’ve been trying to make a movie for a while now, but no one will make it. But they made yours. And you know why?” Griffin asked

“No, why?” Rogen asked.

“Because I’m Black, and you’re Jewish, motherf***ers,” Griffin told Rogen, according to the book.

Rogen said at first he thought Griffin

Doctor Who: the Historical Places the Show Has Never Visited (But Should)

Doctor Who: the Historical Places the Show Has Never Visited (But Should)
All of time, all of space, at your fingertips. That’s the promise of the Tardis. And despite a strong predilection for London, Earth, in the late 20th and early 21st centuries, the Doctor has certainly gotten about a bit.

But the thing about the universe is, there’s a lot of it, and there are still key historical events, massive epochs of history and places in the universe that the Doctor has never been to on screen.

Some of these have made appearances in the books, comics, of Big Finish audios, but as ‘The Haunting of Villa Diodati‘ shows, Doctor Who isn’t afraid of double dipping when the destination is tempting enough.

The Sinking of the Titanic

A big obvious one that the show has flirted with before with ‘Voyage of the Damned‘, and which the Ninth Doctor hinted at being present at in ‘The End of the World

The ‘Eternals’ Trailer Finally Reveals How Chloé Zhao’s Vision Will Fit in the MCU

The ‘Eternals’ Trailer Finally Reveals How Chloé Zhao’s Vision Will Fit in the MCU
Of all the movies on Marvel Studios’ upcoming slate, “Eternals” has been the most mysterious, between its sprawling and multicultural ensemble, its Oscar-winning auteur director in Chloé Zhao and its story of a race of immortal beings who have secretly been on Earth for millennia. With the teaser trailer finally released to the world, we now have a greater sense of how Zhao will be integrating her unique cinematic eye to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and how the Eternals will fit inside the MCU.

Here’s what we’ve learned.

The Eternals are an integral — but invisible — part of human history

Set to Skeeter Davis’ haunting song “The End of the World,” we first meet the Eternals as their massive, totemic ship appears before a small tribe of early humans, many thousands of years in our past. As the Eternals’ leader Ajak (Salma Hayek) explains in voice-over, the Eternals have “watched,

Marvel’s Eternals Trailer Song Is Sadder Than You Think

Marvel’s Eternals Trailer Song Is Sadder Than You Think
Marvel’s first full-length Eternals trailer doesn’t reveal much about the plot, but it sets a mood. The film is directed and co-written by Chloé Zhao, who won Best Picture and Best Director for Nomadland, a heart-wrenching journey through a desolate landscape. The song featured in the Eternals trailer has been evoking tragic isolation for years. It played on an endless loop in 1999’s Girl, Interrupted. It foretold the zombie apocalypse in the first teaser trailers for The Walking Dead. But the song has even sadder roots than that.

“Throughout the years we have never interfered, until now,” we hear a disembodied female voice (likely Salma Hayek’s Ajak) observe in the trailer. If gods or goddesses stopped bad things from happening to good people, a lot of great music may never exist. The music for the song “The End of the World” was composed by New York City-born Arthur Kent.

Seth Rogen Has No Plans to Work With James Franco Again Following Misconduct Accusations

Seth Rogen Has No Plans to Work With James Franco Again Following Misconduct Accusations
At least not “right now,” actor tells The Sunday Times

Seth Rogen says he has no plans to work with James Franco again following multiple accusations of misconduct against his friend and frequent movie collaborator.

That is in contrast to what Rogen said in 2018, when asked the same question after multiple women accused Franco of misbehavior. At the time, Rogen said he would continue to work with his friend.

“I also look back to that interview in 2018 where I comment that I would keep working with James, and the truth is that I have not and I do not plan to right now,” Rogen told The Sunday Times.

Franco and two of his former acting students, Sarah Tither-Kaplan and Toni Gaal, settled a lawsuit in February in which they accused the actor of intimidating them into gratuitous and exploitative sexual situations. The two former students of Franco’s Playhouse West

Seth Rogen: I Do Not Plan to Work with James Franco Right Now After Sexual Misconduct Claims
Seth Rogen confirmed in an interview with The Sunday Times that he does not plan to work with James Franco following several allegations of sexual misconduct made against the “Spider-Man” and “127 Hours” actor. Franco was accused in 2018 of forcing several of his acting students into sexual situations. A lawsuit on the matter was settled in February. Rogen and Franco starred together on the cult classic series “Freaks and Geeks” before teaming up on films such as “Pineapple Express,” “This Is the End,” “The Disaster Artist,” and “The Interview.”

“I also look back to that interview in 2018 where I comment that I would keep working with James,” Rogen told The Times, “and the truth is that I have not and I do not plan to right now.”

When asked if the allegations against Franco affected their personal relationship as much as their professional relationship, Rogen responded, “I don’t know

George Lucas Said No When Seth Rogen Asked for a Seat on His Apocalypse Spaceship

George Lucas Said No When Seth Rogen Asked for a Seat on His Apocalypse Spaceship
Seth Rogen, the actor/writer/director behind hits such as Superbad and This is the End, has detailed a pretty bizarre encounter he had with George Lucas nearly a decade ago. Rogen met the Star Wars creator during a meeting that had been set up with Steven Spielberg, one of Lucas' close friends and collaborators. Things got so strange that, at one point, Rogen and his filmmaking partner Evan Goldberg asked if they could take a ride on Lucas' spaceship, to which, he firmly said no.

The story was told on a recent episode of Conan O'Brien's podcast Conan Needs a Friend. Seth Rogen was promoting his new book, Yearbook. As Seth Rogen tells it, the encounter happened at the beginning of 2012. As some may recall, the Mayans had, at one point, seemingly predicted that the world would end that very year. It didn't. Per Rogen's account, things started out normal enough.

Flashback: Morrissey Rocks London at Final Pre-Pandemic Performance
The Simpsons aired a rather unusual episode on Sunday night where Lisa befriends an imaginary version of Eighties Morrissey who goes by the name Quilloughby, only to turn on him when she realizes he’s a sullen malcontent who’s incapable of joy. It ends with her encountering the modern-day Quilloughby at a festival where he spouts racist drivel onstage and reveals that he’s no long a vegetarian by eating a pastrami sandwich and firing sausages into the audience.

The episode seemed custom-made to infuriate Morrissey, and he responded
