ZZ Top are a well known blues rock band that developed a cult following in the 1970s in the UK maybe more to do with their long beards than the blues guitar work.
In 1983 the band released the more synth and rock oriented album Eliminator accompanied with some MTV friendly videos that brought them a new fan base with hit songs like Legs, Sharp dressed man and Gimme all your lovin. I think they also sold hell a lot of ZZ Top key rings at the same time as the album.
The band have always relied on guitars and humorous innuendos in their lyrics and they still have a loyal following.
In 2008 the band released their first live concert DVD entitled Live from Texas, their home state. They may be older, the beards are even longer but they still have that pulsating guitar sound as they go through some of bands greatest hits. Obviously fans would appreciate this DVD the most but you cannot help admire the tight musicianship of the band.
