"Are you an idiot or catholic?"
4 April 2013 | by Pieter CoopmanSee all my reviews

I got dragged to this movie against my will with some friends, and I must say, I did not expect this. It was a lot worse than I imagined. Now, I don't know what I was thinking when I thought a Wahlberg police drama movie that went through development hell could be any good, but the movie was just boring. The cast was alright in this, Wahlberg did an okay job and I liked Crowe and Zeta-Jones as well. But the writing, aside from being very clichéd, was bad and sucked all life and potential of the movie, to the point where I actually fell asleep, which never occurred to me before in theaters. One scene was pretty memorable though, and I won't spoil anything, but the scene after Mark's girlfriend's movie's premiere was one of the dumbest things I've seen in a while. The directing wasn't the worst I've seen, but it does show Allen Hughes did this one without the help of his brother.

Overall, I'd give it a 4/10, bad but not so bad it's entertaining, so I'd say stay away.
