Did You Know?

Chris Jericho: I am here to entertain the people, to save them from their boredom, their agony. The adulation of the millions of Jericholics is all the thanks I need. Well, maybe a championship reign or two thrown in for good measure, huh? And what better time to shoot for that than on the Road to WrestleMania.

A big step in the right direction
14 October 2017 | by See all my reviews

This game is great in almost all aspects. The visuals are great, the creation suite got upgraded (for the most part), the game modes are an immense improvement from 2008, the gameplay is awesome, and the roster is great as well. This game not only fixes all of the things that made 2008 okay, but it adds more to it. The visuals are great, as the arenas and the lighting effects look much more realistic than previous games. The game modes are pretty amazing, as Road To Wrestlemania lets you pick between a few superstars, which all take you through their journey to Wrestlemania, and they all do it really well, as the stories are not only good, but the matches leading up to Wrestlemania in each Superstars journey work very well and make it seem more immersive. The career mode is also pretty awesome, as it lets you build up your created superstars overall score, but at the same time, it can feel pretty basic and can get boring after a while. The creation suite is vastly improved for the most part. The Create A Superstar is a huge improvement from earlier games, as it gives you more to customize with for your superstar. Same with Create an Entrance, as anyone with a PS3/Xbox 360 can now use there music files as the superstars theme, which is pretty incredible. The all new Create a Finisher is also pretty epic, as it allows anyone to easily make an awesome and unique finisher for their custom superstar. This game, however, no longer has Create a Championship, but at the same time, the improved creation suite and the addition of creating a Finisher more than makes up for that in my opinion. All in all, this game is a big staple in the Smackdown Vs. Raw series as it is a huge step in the right direction, and I couldn't be happier with how it turned out.
