Intrigue

The Angry Video Game Nerd

Modifier

Résumés

  • A foul-mouthed nerd reviews bad video games.
  • A series about a serious video game fan who owns almost every single game and console in the world. He goes by the name Angry Video Game Nerd, cause he's always angry when it comes to playing games that don't hold up well to their expectations. Wether it's games that have bad control scheme, unusual use of the buttons on the control, unfinished graphics, bad layouts of a level, or the kind that are too hard for an average player to play. He plays all of those type of games to show the other gamers out there just how bad they are. While the only way to find these bad game more tolerable to play the Nerd would either make fun of the game or curse constantly when struggling to play them.—J LeGault

Synopsis

  • An angry gamer brutally critiques retro video games that are bad and/or frustrating. He uses explicit language to emphasize his irritation and describes in great detail vile and/or painful acts that he would rather perform than play the game(s) he is reviewing. Sometimes, guest characters (such as Bugs Bunny and Pepsiman) will harass him while he is conducting his review. Other times, guest characters (such as Spiderman and Super Mecha Death Christ) will help the Nerd. If a video game, game console, or game accessory is especially bad, the Nerd will give it "the Nerd seal of disapproval" by defecating on it. A Guitar Guy who lives behind the Nerd's couch occasionally aids the Nerd in his endeavors. A Glitch Gremlin sometimes disrupts the Nerd's gaming sessions by giving his games glitches. However, the Glitch Gremlin develops and realizes that he must team up with the Nerd in order to have fun glitching games once more. Companies that develop and/or publish substandard video games rip you off and don't care one bit, but this Nerd doesn't forget it. He holds them accountable for their crimes against the gaming community. Although this is true, he realized that bad games can be misunderstood and you never know what the developers were going through in the process once the Nerd finished his rivalry with LJN. However, this arc was demolished when he played "The Last Ninja", the absolute WORST game on the NES. Some actual living threats he has faced have been Jason Vorheeves, Freddy Krueger, Bugs Bunny, Frankenstein, the Glitch Gremlin, R.O.B. the Robot, Pepsiman, Ernie, and more.
