Sideshow Mel recounts events leading up to Lisa getting the Entertainer of the Year award. Having berated Krusty for not engaging Bart as his sidekick she gets a job as the clown's personal assistant and gradually edges him out of the limelight as she substitutes for him when his misadventures render him unavailable. However Mel points out to her the pitfalls that come with fame. Bart meanwhile has taken up coin collecting with Homer, even cheating Burns out of ownership of the extremely rare 1917 Kissing Lincoln coin. Written by don @ minifie-1
S19 of the show wraps up with a spot on parody of 'All About Eve'.
I thought this was a fun episode, with a nice Homer/Bart story making up the B plot.
With some nice mocking of Hollywood stardom along the way it again reminds us that while 'The Simpsons' might not be able to produce really top, top quality episode week after week (but isn't that the same as many long running shows?) when it's good it is still very good.
