Family Dinner

A great family show

Besides these other reviews, I absolutely love this show. Brilliantly crafted and well shot. I love the family atmosphere that is created by Andrew and the families he has dinner with is just fantastic. Not many episodes go by where my wife and I say we are going to create this with our family. Each family has specific family traditions that make each one unique. I encourage those who come across this show to watch it. The magnolia network has done such a great job of having shows that really show what America is about. Please check out this show. It is completely worth it. Thank you Andrew Zimmern for having this show.

Could this be more boring?

There is so little insight or revelation or anything beneficial from these episodes. It's just watching Andrew Zimmern slog around the family while they make some family recipes. Everything he tastes that they make is "wonderful". I seriously doubt that. It just makes the show so unbelievable. I'm sure some things are great, some are just "ok" and some are "bad"...but to say it's all "excellent" is just so unbelievable. And what insight or perspective does he bring to the episodes? Zip. I watched two episodes and they were so forgettable and lacking any real magic or emotion. It's just the same old boring format for each episode. Blah, blah, blah...

Sign of respect

I've always been taught taking your hat off when indoors is a sign of respect. Why does Andrew Zimmerman wear his indoors and at the dinner table. A glaring sign of disrespect.

Bending over backwards to be sensitive

If you lived in Minnesota back in 2018 you'll remember Zimmern's comments about the Chinese food environment in the Twin Cities; he was ironically attempting to open an asian food restaurant called the Lucky Cricket at the same time. The restaurant failed and so did he. After a divorce and Bizarre foods being canceled he's clearly trying to reinvent himself. I used to like him especially his story of getting clean. However, having a national platform as he did and disparaging a relevant food population was in poor taste to say the least. I can't watch him anymore because I don't really believe he's genuine.

Respect?

Please do you really need to wear that Magnolia Hat at the dinner table? I feel it is very very disrespectful and I would hope Jo and Chip do not require it. You would get a perfect 10 if not for that. Very wholesome entertainment.
