You might get excited if you think someone decided to make a real Death Race show, but unfortunately it's just a combination of Scrap Heap Challenge meets Robot Wars.
U.K. teams construct a Death Race/Mad Max type of vehicle and for reasons unknown, have it transported to an arena in the middle of the desert in Africa to eliminate each other. I guess that was mistake #1, as no one could care less if this takes place in a desert or a parking lot. What a waste of money that was for them.
Then it's a typical done-to-death footage of meeting the team and hearing why they think they're gonna win and yadda yadda yadda blows raspberry thumbs down. How about instead of 8 drawn-out boring episodes with too much boring filler, you try editing things nice and tight and just make 4 really good episodes? No profit to be made huh? I guess boring the audience to death is better, but either way you look at, no ratings, no renewal... again, just a waste of money to produce this... but hey, whatta i know, I'I'mjust the one who had suffer viewing it lol.
The hosts are all annoying. The typical god awful speak while walking at the camera and pretending they're enthusiastic and excited to watch a demolition derby instead of being at a shopping mall looking for make-up and shoes.
Then there is the weaponizing... don't get excited.... it's a bunch if spikes and ram rods or useless bits on the cars, but with the object of the thing to immobilize an opponent, they don't come into play, as it's mostly just about who the heavier car is that rams the other into a ditch.
No guns, no explosions, no injury, no lives at stake.... and to be honest, I saw better Carnage races on Scrap Heap Challenge.
Don't bother watching it. Its all the donts rolled into one, in a god awful attempt to cash-in on the said shows success and cross their fingers this one would be just as good.... it ran for 1 season for a reason... I don't need to say anymore.
