Trivia

When Stana Katic first met Nathan Fillion, she had just gotten out of hair and makeup for the final callback between her and one other actress, and realized she was wearing a blouse that was too long. She asked for a pair of scissors, saw Nathan Fillion getting coffee, and greeted him. He asked if she wanted to run lines, and she replied, "No, but speaking of lines, can you cut a straight line?" To which he replied "I can try." And so he cut her blouse shorter for her. The producers saw this and she got the part. See more »

Goofs

In many episodes detectives track somebody by using the entrance/exit information from their MetroCards. In NYC the card is only swept once at the entrance but not on the exit (except on Staten Island where card is swept at the exit only), so the person can travel almost the entire subway system with only the entrance recorded. Exit swipes are in use in Washington, DC and San Francisco's BART where zonal fares are in use. See more »

Hook, line and sinker
19 March 2009 | by kmcquee1See all my reviews

As a dedicated Nathan Fillion fan I had to watch this show to support my favorite actor, but a few minutes into the pilot I knew I was in. Not only was Fillion perfect for his role as Rick Castle, but the rest of the cast fits together like a strange, yet very close family. By the end of the episode I was hooked. This show has it all, mystery, intrigue, comedy and relationships, beyond romance. It is relieving to have a show that is not only about the two main characters relationship, but also the daughter and mother and their corky relation to Castle. This show is a perfect ten! Here's hoping it has a longer run than Fillion's other work!!!
