    Judge fair, keep it real.

First i would like to comment on all the people who gives grades like 1 or 10, try and be a little realistic please. Its freaking annoying that people really cant see how this scale is working. Look at the top 250 and at the bottom 100 .. Now that is amazing movies or just plain horrible movies. If you don't feel you got what you wanted out of this movie then maybe your expectation's was to high. Godfather, Fight Club etc, those are movies that deserve a solid 9 or 10. Diary of a cannibal, Dream Well thats movies that deserve a solid 1 or 2. So stop your pessimistic crap about how bad this movie is and rate 1. No one can ever say that this movie is worse then any on the bottom 100. Ihave personally watched 1000+ movies so i find my self quite knowledge about a good movie or not, and this is not a great movie, but you get solid mindless action movie with decent graphic and a good acting crew. It gets a little long but again, no one cheats you in this movie. No one said to you before you watched it that it was movie of the year. You have a trailer and you build your own expectations. Give it a honest chance and stop judging it like it was a episode "bad" episode of jersey shore or its a 8th wonder of the world. Just judge fair for gods sake.

I would have given it 6.5/10 but i cant half here.

Solid action, decent actors and a decent night entertainment, if you stop believing its the movie of all time, and just go for it.

    Judge fair, keep it real.

A thrilling warlike movie about a squad of U. S. Marines becomes the last line of defense against a global invasion.

A wartime fiilm in which a two-fisted sergeant and his handful of loyal men are humanity's last hope, as numerous cities around the globe crash down one by one due to an alien invasion. This spectacular motion picture, inspired by H. G. Wells' novel, was professionally directed by Jonathan Liebesman but without much originality. Over the years there have been documented cases of UFO sightings around the world. But now what until then had been simple sightings become a terrible reality when the earth is attacked by unknown forces. While the world witnesses how great cities fall, Los Angeles becomes the last bastion of humanity in a battle that no one expected. On August 12, 2011, a number of apparent meteors land in the world's oceans, near 20 major coastal cities. The objects prove to be spacecraft containing hostile extraterrestrials. San Diego and San Francisco are already lost, and LA has the last military force on the west coast. As Los Angeles (LA) is being evacuated, Marines from Camp Pendleton arrive, including United States Marine Corps Staff Sergeant Michael Nantz (Aaron Eckhart), an Iraq War veteran. Nantz, who was to begin his retirement, is assigned to 1st Platoon, Echo Company, of the 2nd Battalion, 5th Marines. The platoon, flown by chopper to the forward operating base at Santa Monica Airport, is being led by a new 2nd Lt. Martinez (Ramon Rodriguez). They are sent on a mission to rescue some civilians who are trapped at the police station within alien territory. They must fight an alien invasion and invading machines war. No matter how much armaments are utilized facing them, the lethal aliens and flying aircrafts are invincible and impassive . Neither army , tanks , air force or bombs arrange to vanquish the imperturbable and unalterable invasion alien . Later on, TSgt. Elena Santos (Michelle Rodriguez joins the brave group to tell the killer aliens. It's not war. It's survival.

Lots of action in a Sci-fi film in which the military of the earth have to face a much more powerful army, that of some aliens who a long time ago began to prepare for the invasion. It's a fabulous story , and well paced , about a deadly alien attack and a sergeant and his subordinate soldiers have to save unfortunate people at whatever cost .The film concerns the survival of human specie, the fundamental theme results to be the humanity confrontation and the main enemy: an alien invasion at an exceptional world happening. The destroyed urbanizations, with the citizens going away and the aliens themselves, are stunnningly brought to life and created in state-of-art special effects, delivering eerie highlights. The yarn is developed in the ordinary world, out of Pentagon and White House. It's loosely based on the H. G. Wells notorious novel that remains as landmark in the sci-fi history , but has been changed the location of original novel from London, 1890, to Los Angeles in year 2011. The best thing about the film is the impressive action scenes, with overwhelming combats, made using steadycam and camera above the man, in the wake of 'Spielberg's Saving Private Ryan', in fact from this film most of the images of shootings in the war genre are made in that style. Well starred by Aaron Eckart as the tough Marine sergeant who lead his team, he will have to define the limits against an enemy like never before. Eckart is appropriately accompanied by a good cast with plenty of familiar faces , such as: Ramón Rodríguez, Micahel Peña, Will Rothhaar, Bridget Moynahan, Joey King, Ne-Yo, Jim Parrack and special appearance from Michelle Rodriguez.

It packs an adecuate and atmospheric cinematography by Lukas Ettlin. As well as a rousing and suspenseful musical score by Brian Tyler. Competently directed by South African fimmaker Jonathan Liebesman, who until then had focused more on the horror genre. Jonathan is a good filmmaker , a fine craftsman who thanks to his first horror film ¨Darkness Falls¨ was hired by powerful producer Michael Bay to direct : ¨The Texas chainsaw massacre : the beginning¨. Liebesman has directed a few of blockbusters and successful TV series, such as : t¨Teenage mutant ninja turtles¨, ¨Wrath of Titanes¨ , ¨The killing room¨, ¨The Shannara Chronicles¨, and ¨Halo¨. Rating ¨Battle Los Angeles¨: 6/10, decent and acceptable warfare movie.

Nice and simple fantasy thriller with action all the way!

Staff Sergeant Nantz (Aaron Eckhart) was preparing for retirement. But when an apparent cluster of meteors turns out to be an alien invasion, Nantz embarks on one final mission. He is part of a platoon sent to Los Angeles to rescue a handful of civilians - and they only have 3 hours before the military nukes Los Angeles.

With time running out and obstacles around every corner, 'Battle Los Angeles' is a thrilling action adventure fantasy. The action sequences are fast and amazingly well done. The visual effects are stunning. The freeway scene in particular was awesome!

Does 'Battle Los Angeles' offer anything we haven't seen before in an alien invasion movie? Maybe not, but it surely was a hell of a joy ride! It has a simple premise without surprising twists or a complicated storyline. There's action all the way, and a very nice finale. This was pure entertainment!

Finally ... What I wanted to see after I watched the trailer for Skyline !!!!

I went into this movie with low expectations after the relative disappointment which was skyline, a film that promised so much from the trailer and delivered far less.

However, im glad to say any misgivings I had were quickly expelled. Now don't get me wrong, this isn't the greatest film ever made, and in many ways it fails to hold a candle to the likes of independence day, which in my opinion is one of the greatest films of its type ever made. It does however, bring a much more up close and personal aspect to an alien invasion. Its more like watching a war filmed in Iraq or something, but that in itself is what separates it from a muddle of recent alien invasion movies that fails to ignite any kind of fire in the mind.

The film moves at an unrelenting pace, with good action sequences and cgi to boot, its predictable at times and the ending fails to come up with something clever or original, but hey ... you cant have everything !!!

A movie all about Determination and motivation.

Read many other reviews disgracing such a beautiful movie. What's wrong with these guys! This movie shows a lot more than just shooting and killing aliens but it displays determination and characters in this movie showed that we must never give up. I mean this movie gave equal importance to motivation. Forget about the aliens, the movie also shows how the soldiers fight protecting their motherland and sacrificing to save a million lives. Its a must watch movie for all ages!

At the mission briefing, pictures taken by the Hubble telescope of the "meteors" falling to Earth are shown to the marines. Hubble is a deep space telescope, virtually useless for taking pictures of anything in Earth's atmosphere.
