Storyline

It was meant to be a harmless stag night, but a few hours later Michael Harrison has disappeared and four of his friends are dead. With only three days to the wedding, Detective Superintendent Roy Grace, haunted by the memories of his missing wife, is contacted by Michael's beautiful, distraught fiancée, Ashley Harper. Grace discovers that the one man who ought to know Michael Harrison's whereabouts is saying nothing, but then he has a lot more to gain than anyone realises - for one man's disaster is another man's fortune.

Goofs

When Grace looks at the satnav in Ashley's hire car after finding her on the yacht, it shows two recent destinations that had been programmed into the satnav. One is the harbour in Shoreham where her car is, and the other is the location in Newhaven where he later finds Michael. However the distances from those destinations to the present location of the car are the wrong way round: according to the satnav, the car is at Newhaven, not Shoreham. See more »

Much better than I expected

For some reason I wasn't expecting very much from this. It was probably because I knew what the main plot device was and thought that it might all be a bit melodramatic. I persevered though, partly because I like John Simm and partly because it was set in my home town. In the end, it was very melodramatic but I really enjoyed this. Brighton & it's better half Hove looked great and the story built out around the main plot device worked well even though you can't help wondering how Michael can be so unlucky. I found the continuity issues annoying as a local and the ending could have been a little better crafted but all in all, two hours well spent.
