20 years after attempting an epic pub crawl, five childhood friends reunite when one of them becomes hell bent on trying the drinking marathon again. They are convinced to stage an encore by mate Gary King, a 40-year old man trapped at the cigarette end of his teens, who drags his reluctant pals to their home town and once again attempts to reach the fabled pub, The World's End. As they attempt to reconcile the past and present, they realize the real struggle is for the future, not just theirs but humankind's. Reaching The World's End is the least of their worries.Written by
In the fight between Gary and Andy in the World's End pub, Gary's hospital band gives his date of birth as 03-Jan-1972; this would have made Gary 18 in 1990. Assuming he was not kept back two years, his school leaving date should have been June 1988 when he was 16. See more »

The Sisters of Mercy's "This Corrosion" is used over the end credits. If this track sounds very familiar to you, it might be because other's have described Hans Zimmer's "Las Vegas" music from Rain Man (1988) as being a "dead-on swipe" of this Sister's track. See more »
I must start by admitting to have reviewed this previously and removed it, last time round I must have been in a bad mood, I criticised it for going off the boil, however in recent times I've gotten so into it, it's meant to be bonkers, outrageous and utterly over the top and it sure is. I think there's something incredibly British about the humour, the world could come to an end, but there's still time for nostalgia, and more importantly there's still time for a pint. It's still perhaps my least favourite of The Three Flavours Cornetto trilogy, but the other two are that good, and hard acts to follow. It is clever, it's witty, and which of us doesn't know a Gary? If only it didn't have to be a trilogy, would have loved more from this successful group, it's an underrated gem.
