Dreadful
23 June 2010 | by inkslayerSee all my reviews

The Grind is neither erotic, nor a thriller. It's poorly written, and degrading to women. It's so awful it gives me a headache just thinking about it.

The storyline has been done before: mental midget flimflammer owes money to the mob. Does it really make any difference which mob? Not really. Not these days.

To make money so he can pay off the mob flimflammer Luke steals credit card numbers and names from folks hitting a Web site he puts up: hotgirlsinahouse.com. Yet, the girls aren't hot. Not only that, Luke has to motivate them to get hot. And they're still not! They're stereotypical. And according to all the screen writing masters, stereotypical is a no-no.

Luke has one week to pay the mob. No one in the real world who has just put up a Web site can make enough money in a week to pay their rent, let alone pay off the mob. Oh, and none of the credit card holders have reported their cards/information stolen? The Grind is another one of those movies where it appears the writer/director is attempting to fulfill his personal sexual fantasies on film and in public. And when a man does that, his loins and ego may not suffer, but his screenplay sure does.
