There's Some Serious Game of Thrones Eye Candy Going on in Amy Schumer's I Feel Pretty

Since the trailer and marketing leading up to Amy Schumer's new romantic comedy, I Feel Pretty, focuses on the ensuing romance between leads Schumer and Rory Scovel (The House), you might be surprised to discover that there's another man who attempts to steal the heroine's heart. Scovel's Ethan might be the scruffy, charming star, but the suave, wealthy, and 10-foot-tall Grant LeClair is certainly easy on the eyes. Not only that, but he's also played by a very familiar face: Game of Thrones actor Tom Hopper!

The 33-year-old British actor, who's also appeared in Black Sails and Merlin, made his debut in the HBO fantasy drama as Dickon Tarly in season seven's second episode, "Stormborn." Though his character might not have been on the side we wish he were - ideally, supporting Daenerys's every whim - it didn't take long for fans of the show

"Cursed"- 'Lady Of The Lake'

Netflix has ordered a 10-episode, "Cursed" live-action TV series from "Sin City" creator Frank Miller, based on Miller's upcoming re-imagining of the 'King Arthur' legend, focusing on the 'Lady of the Lake':

"...'Nimue', is a teenage girl with a mysterious gift, destined to become the powerful 'Lady of the Lake'. After her mother’s death, she finds an unexpected partner in 'Arthur', a young mercenary, in a quest to find 'Merlin' and deliver an ancient sword. Over the course of her journey, Nimue will become a symbol of courage and rebellion against the terrifying 'Red Paladins', and their complicit 'King Uther'..."

"I have always been entranced by the mythological 'Arthur' story," said Miller, "and by 'Nimue', in particular. It can be interpreted in a number of ways — from a delightful children’s story, as in 'The Sword in the Stone', to a terrifying interpretation like 'Excalibur'.

Netflix’s ‘Cursed’ Unites Frank Miller and Tom Wheeler for a Take on King Arthur

Audiences have seen a few versions of Arthurian legend in recent years. On the big screen, Transformers: The Last Knight kitchen sink'd King Arthur and his pals for some reason, and Charlie Hunnam tried to punch his way to victory in Guy Ritchie's King Arthur: Legend of the Sword. And on the small screen, and probably the best of the bunch, was the 2008 series Merlin. Well it's about to get some competition thanks to a new deal between Netflix, Frank Miller, and Tom Wheeler (Puss in Boots, The Lego Ninjago Movie). As Deadline reports, Netflix's …

How Mobile Phones Are Giving Hollywood a Better Understanding of Its Audiences

Fox had it wrong.

The studio thought that “The Greatest Showman,” a song-and-dance ode to circus impresario P.T. Barnum, would be a hit with the crowds who embraced musicals such as “La La Land” and “Les Misérables.”

But when executives looked at the data, they found that 75% of the people who viewed the trailer online bought tickets to “Beauty and the Beast,” “Pitch Perfect,” “Cinderella” and “Wonder.” “We had to peel it back and think, what is this all about?” says Julie Rieger, Fox’s chief data strategist and head of media. “What is the data telling us?”

What Rieger and other Fox executives realized was that all of those films featured characters who were shunned by society — perhaps because of physical deformities or a lack of social cachet — and who ultimately found themselves embraced by certain communities. The same holds true for “The Greatest Showman,” a large part

Pil filed against Tamil film ‘Merlin’ for dialogue denigrating women

Law There is a dialogue in the film which reportedly says women get possessed by ghosts in most cases, and one of the reasons behind this is them not having sex.Tnm StaffScreenshot/YouTubeA Public Interest Litigation has been filed in the Madras High Court against a scene in the Tamil film Merlin for a dialogue which the petitioner has deemed derogatory to women. According to reports, Praveena Charumathi Sampathkumar filed a Pil against a dialogue in the film where a priest says that not only are women likely to be possessed by ghosts, but that one of the major reasons behind this was them not having sex. Praveena found the dialogue disrespectful to women. Her counsel S Silambu Selvan argued that the under the sections 2(1) and 5(E) of the Cinematograph Act, women characters should not be degraded in any form. If they are, it would be an offence under Indecent Representation of Women (Prevention) Act. The film, which hit the screens on February 23, was given a ‘U’ certificate by the Central Board of Film Certification. The Pil seeks the removal of the scene in question. Praveena said that she was shocked to find such a dialogue in a ‘U’ rated film. She had reportedly approached the Cbfc with a written presentation regarding the scene previously. After receiving no response, she decided to move the Madras High Court and file a Pil. Silambu also argued that the Cbfc had given the rating to the film without taking into consideration the law, and that the scene should be removed from the film. A bench comprising Chief Justice Indira Banerjee and Justice Abdul Quddhose had issued a notice to the Cbfc about the Pil. The matter has been posted for hearing on March 16. Merlin has been produced by Jsb studio. A Keera directorial, it stars Vishnu Priyan and Ashwini Chandrashekhar in pivotal roles.

According to reports, Disney is in negotiation with Ridley Scott to helm The Merlin Saga along with his production company, Scott Free. It is believed that the Merlin Saga will be Scott's next project, but nothing has been officially confirmed by Disney or Ridley Scott. All the Money in the World as well as Alien: Covenant were both directed by Scott in 2017 and All the Money in the World is seeing quite a bit of acclaim, even after removing Kevin Spacey from the project and replacing him with Christopher Plummer at the absolute last minute.

Barron's books. Boyens is best known for working with Peter Jackson and Fran Walsh on all six Middle-earth films as well

It looks like Ridley Scott may have found his next film project. According to Variety, he is in talks to direct The Merlin Saga for Disney.

I heard from one of my sources awhile back that Ridley Scott was in talks for a Disney film but I didn’t know it would be this. I thought it would be for the live-action adaptation of The Sword and the Stone, but I guess this is pretty close! The report did confirm he was in talks for Sword in the Stone as well, which is still in development.

The movie is being written by Philippa Boyens (The Lord of the Rings) and it will be based on the T.A. Barron book series. The story follows the “origin story of a young Merlin who would go on to become the mentor of the classic literary character King Arthur.”

This scene shows the first interaction between Agent Tequila (Channing Tatum) and the Kingsmen agents Eggsy (Taron Egerton) and Merlin (Mark Strong). Hellboy Reboot Gets Hemlock Grove Star Penelope Mitchell

Hellboy Reboot Gets Hemlock Grove Star Penelope Mitchell
Just days after actor Ed Skrein exited Lionsgate's Hellboy reboot, due to concerns over "whitewashing," the project has added yet another member to its cast. Penelope Mitchell (Hemlock Grove) has just signed on to play a witch named Ganeida. It remains unclear if the studio is actively seeking actors to replace Ed Skrein, who backed out of the Major Ben Daimio role upon learning that the original character in the comics is a Japanese-American man.

Deadline reports that Ganeida is an elder witch who decides that the reign of terror caused by Nimue the Blood Queen (Milla Jovovich) has gone on long enough and tries to stop her. It's unclear if Ganeida ultimately joins forces with Hellboy (David Harbour) and his team of paranormal investigators to take down this medieval sorceress, but it seems likely. The Ganeida character had a similar arc in the 2011 comic Hellboy: The Fury, so
