Storyline

Produced for the German Blu-Ray (Koch Films) set of "Emmanuelle 1 - 4" (2020 release) and premiered at the Derby Film Festival's "Paracinema Weekend" in England, Friday, May 8th, 2020. "The Emmanuelle Effect" is the first attempt to untangle the bizarre legacy of the many movie-mythologies that emerged following the huge success of the erotic blockbuster Emmanuelle in 1974, starring the timeless Sylvia Kristel. Leading to its own series of official sequels, as well as an Italian cluster of "Emanuelle" films (notice the spelling) starring the legendary Laura Gemser, this insightful expose guides viewers through one of most bizarre and long-lasting franchises of contemporary times.
