Frank and Garrett try to convince Mayor Chase to work better with others to properly run the city; Danny and Baez try to track down the person who vandalized several NYPD vehicles with anti-cop graffiti; Erin is shaken after a car accident.

After being in a car accident, Erin starts acting strangely. Eddie finds a dog that helps collar a perp. She wants to keep it but Jamie won't let her. Frank wants the mayor to give him more funds to add more police officers. When the mayor refuses,Frank who's suppose to give an interview wherein he is suppose to praise the mayor, considers doing the opposite. Danny is upset that his car was spray painted with an insult to cops and no one knows who did it. Jamie protests when Eddie wants to take in their apartment a stray dog who led Eddie and Rachel to a crime scene. Jamie is even more reluctant after it the dog runs amok in his office, but agrees to keep it at the precinct after it gives him and Eddie another collar, remembering the members of a street gang which ironically dumped him. Frank and Garrett devise a plan to convince Mayor Chase to recruit more cops for the city. Danny and Baez track down a perp who vandalized several NYPD vehicles with anti-cop graffiti and made threats against officers; it's an honors student, whose incorrigible older brother was killed by cops. Danny is especially tense about this case, but encourages the young man to stay on the right path instead of going down the same road his brother did. Shaken after she's not injured in a car accident, Erin tells her ex-husband Jack how much he had hurt her over the years. Nicky's surprise visit from San Francisco cheers them up, but Erin objects at Sunday dinner when her family members discuss the police work they had been up to that week.
