It's a little enjoyable, no harm done
A little warning: if it's not the music video for "Charm the Snake" song then it's the one made for "Every Turn of the World", but in any case it's a single from the same 1985 album. Why the confusion? Record company Warner has it posted on their YouTube channel as being the album title track while some other person had it under the "Charm the Snake" title. Different songs but same video of Christopher Cross playing a Formula One driver competiting with a cowboy dude in this lonely race track where they are observed by an enthuasiastic crowd and a lovely woman fan of Cross.

David Fincher is the man behind the clip but the overall style of shots and sequences have a vibe coming from Tony Scott's films - the initial scenes, with the red-ish skies, fast cuts and some controlled slow motion. It's almost a thankless job destined to promote the artist because the company forced director and the singer to do it. It's all over the place - Cross car has WB logo on his car while the other guy just have a number instead. Didn't work much. In spite of some good sales and the single charting somewhat visible positions, Cross never got back to the top.

But considering that the Grammy Award winning man was "killed" by MTV and almost gets no promotional videos this one deserves some view and recognition because it's a well-made video of him; there's the race car concept with good edited racing sequences to thrill fans of sppedy cars and some competition and it's not tacky or cheap as one may think it is. The song isn't totally appealing but has its charm, kind of works well with the video.

Some fans think that the more hard "Every Turn..." fits more with the images. Gotta agree on that one. 7/10.
