Storyline

Christmas has been crushed by the mean-spirited D. D. Kovet, who owns almost the whole tiny town of Ironsville. But when a mysterious peasant girl and her beautiful wolf companion come to town, it's up to her to spark meaning and spirit in the hearts of townsfolk again. She begins to sell holly, despite the law against it, and soon the whole town is enchanted by her and by the long-forgotten Christmas spirit. Will Kovet's scheme to stop the celebration succeed in banishing the girl from Ironsville? Or will the spirit of the season prevail? Written by Anonymous

Beautiful and heart-warming
10 September 2012 | by TheLittleSongbirdSee all my reviews

Possibly the best of the Blye Migicovsky animations, which have been a decidedly mixed bag with The Toy Shop good and The Count of Monte Cristo really quite poor. I loved An Angel for Christmas though. The animation is very nice, a couple of the character designs are on the stiff side but this is occasionally. Most of the time it is very clean and fluid. The music is sweet and catchy, putting you in the festive mood. The writing is a perfect balance, not too sophisticated for children and not too childish for adults, mostly it is humorous with some sweet sentiment. The story is very heart-warming, simple but effective in its simplicity, while the characters have a lot of likability. The voice acting is solid.

Overall, I found An Angel for Christmas a lovely little treasure. 9/10 Bethany Cox
