A sad story about Mareks family who have been living near an old textile factory for 5 generations.
As textile industry disappeared from Lodz it took a long time before the buildings got a new purpose. The absence of industry and therefore work caused social problems, like alcoholism.
The filmmaker in my view varies strong images with weak ones, which makes it for me not a masterpiece. Second objection to the doc is the position of the filmmaker. he is too much personally involved in the project by e.g. arranging a job for Marek, and giving him money for beers.
A nice view on the social problems of an old working class family, destroyed by the disappearance of industry, and not able to adjust to the modern life."
