***SPOILERS***NYPD police woman Casey Jones, Beverly Garland, goes undercover as a hot & sexy looking music agent in order to solve the murder of song writer Chick Williams who was found shot to death in his Central Park South apartment with only a demo, demonstration, record by singer Sally Masters, Ellen Parker, found at the scene of the crime. With Sally as the #1 suspect in Williams' murder Casey checks out not only her both those she's been involved in the music business. It's there that she uncovers the truth of what a heel and double-crossing rat Chick Williams really was.And just how many people would have not only wanted him dead but were more then willing to do the guy in.

It takes a while but Casey tracks down two persons who were involved with Williams whom he screwed, besides Sally, who may have had reasons to knock Williams off disk jockey Jerry Lynch, Lee Bergere, and song writer Harry Keneen, Mike Kelin, who had some bad experiences with him. Keneen wasn't also screwed by Williams out of the song he wrote that Williams stole from him but also stole or tried to steal his girlfriend Sally Masters. As Casey soon found out Keneen was a down and out drunk and has by far the best reason to murder Williams and in fact admitted to murdering him but his story had as many holes in it as those slugs, six of them, that ripped through Williams body.

***MAJOR SPOILER*** The truth did come out in a spectacular confession by Williams' murderer who broke down and cried like a baby when Casey in a nightclub where Sally was the star attraction confronted with the evidence of his crime. Williams had played or committed his last double-cross and the person he double-crossed just had all he could take from him. He was in no way sorry for what he did but felt guilty in Sally in danger of taking the rap, the murder of Chick Williams, for him that caused him to break down and confess his crime. And did it in such a heart dropping and convincing way that he didn't have to stand trial and be cross examined, Perry Mason style, to do it.
