The Case of: Dakota Moore

Really wanted to like this one but it was 80 minutes of poop. Edited like a Netflix doc, this plays out much like watching a student film in high school. Amy and Altin were the standouts for performance but the pacing of the film was hell to sit through. Nothing even remotely interesting happens until after the 60 minute mark, and even then I was lost due to poor dialogue audio and the story lacking clarity. I think this film could've benefited from lower third comments on the screen (since Dakota is a vlogger), less found footage and more re-enactments for the sake of visuals, security camera footage that you can tell what's happening and it actually adds to the storytelling, and running it through the process of ADR at parts, especially the interviews which audio levels are all over the place (perhaps even reshoots with proper sound equipment). Tubi calls this drama thriller and there was nothing dramatic or thrilling about it. The only subgenres this fits into is mockumentary and found footage.
