Storyline
Described as a "darkly humorous coming-of-age story," The Trickster is a supernatural thriller that follows an Indigenous teen named Jared who struggles to keep his family afloat when a stranger named Wade ruptures the balance. "What begins as an unnerving slow burn of strange events in Jared's already-messy life crescendos to an epic clash of magic, monsters and mayhem," said the CBC in a press release.

Trivia
Trickster premiered on Canada's CBC back in October 2020 and scored an early Season 2 renewal before premiering on The CW on January 12, 2021, but TVLine reported two weeks later that CBC cancelled the series after controversy surrounding co-creator and director Michelle Latimer, who falsely claimed to be Indigenous for 20 years. A representative from CBC addressed the decision to cancel in a statement, saying: "We have had many conversations over the last few weeks with a view to continuing production on a second season of Trickster. Those conversations included producers, writers, actors, and the author of the books on which Trickster is based. Fully respecting everyone's perspective, season two will not move forward as planned unfortunately."

I was really surprised about how good this was. Sparked my interest straight away - the supernatural stuff wasn't too fantastical- you could almost believe the being existed. This also gave some info on indigenous peoples modern way of life living in the UK and being so far removed from the modern day reality it was interested and sparked me to read up a bit on it.
