A great Simpsons episode
studioAT6 January 2020
I'm a bit harsh on 'newer' episodes of 'The Simpsons' at times, but equally when an episode is great I'll say so.

This episode, in which Homer becomes a tow trick driver, is one of the best episodes I've seen in a long time. It's got some huge laughs in it, and some lovely memorable lines.

For those who believe that anything past series 10 of the show is rubbish I'd urge them to watch this episode.

Hilarious episode

This episode had clever humor all the way through and I laughed out loud several times. It fits right at home among the "golden era" of The Simpsons.

Late Golden Age Quality

Midnight Towboy is an amazing episode. I have watched three other episodes in Season 19 and 2 episodes were bad, 1 was okay, and 1 was really good. This falls in the really good category. Midnight Towboy is a hilarious episode. This episode is too good for season 19, no, it should be placed in season 9. No, I'm not talking about The Principle and the Pauper season 9, I'm talking about like Bart Star season 9. If this episode was made 10 years before it was actually made, then this would be an average episode. This episode is late-Golden Age quality!! Midnight Towboy just doesn't feel like a Season 19 episode, which is good. I like the story too, it just feels like a classic Simpsons plot. How does this episode get a 7.1 out of 10? That is just silly. Unlike all the other season 19 episodes I have watched, Midnight Towboy needs a higher IMDb rating. This wonderful episode only gets a 7.1!! This episode needs at least a 7.5 out of 10!!! At least!!! In all, I give this a 8.1 out of 10.

Possibly one of my favourite Simpsons episodes of all-time.

Warning: Spoilers
I never thought this would happen, but a season 19 episode has become one of my favourites. I am not one of those fans of the show that moan about how much The Simpsons has gone downhill, it has declined over the years, but I still love it just as much as ever, and it still remains my favourite show.

'Midnight Towboy', however, took me by surprise. The episode just worked so well. The main plot is basically, Homer is hired by Louie (voiced by Matt Dillon) who has an easy career in towing cars, but warns Homer to stay off his turf. Homer becomes power-mad and starts to tow people's cars for ridiculous reasons. The town's people become angry and set up a trap for Homer. I'll leave it there, I won't spoil it for you.

The episode is funny, the storyline is entertaining and so is the subplot, with Marge trying to help Maggie to become more independent. Great episode.

10/10!

Lovely

I loved this episode. I liked that Homer explored yet another job and I loved how quickly the people of Springfield went from loving Homer and his new job to despising him. I laughed out loud quite a few times in this episode. I liked the plot to destroy Homer and his career and the scenes where he was trapped in the basement with other former truck drivers. And the B-plot was also good. I liked the hippie helping Marge and even though it didn't entirely turn out as Marge had hoped the ending scene had made it all better for her! I loved the scene where Maggie is traveling to save Homer! This episode was certainly very good and I was definitely recommend it!
