Tough As Nails is a competition series that celebrates everyday Americans who roll up their sleeves and don't think twice about working long hard hours and getting their hands dirty, in order to keep their country running. Competitors who consider the calluses on their hands a badge of honor will be tested for their strength, endurance, life skills and, most importantly, mental toughness in challenges that take place at real-world job sites.
I am big fan of Phil Keoghan and his Amazing Race show. So, when I read that he has a new show called Tough-as-Nails.... I had great expectations from this one. I have watched entire first season and was disappointed. The show is ok if you don't have anything else to watch...but otherwise wouldn't recommend it. The work aspect has been made into a game show and various competitors participate for a 200k prize money along with several other team prizes. The is supposed to be a reality show but seems to be extremely scripted. While the show is supposed to be about people who are tough-as-nails.... they seem to be overly emotional and talk a lot about their feelings. Don't think I will watch the second season.
