Why Shiamak Davar isn't part of many Bollywood films nowadays?

Shiamak Davar probably reinvented popular Bollywood choreography with films like Dil Toh Pagal Hai and was a part of films like Dhoom 2, Taare Zameen Par, Yuvvraaj, Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi amongst others. But he isn't choreographing many Bollywood films these days.

Ask him the reason and he says, "My focus and priority is dance education, finding people with a passion for dance and giving them the right direction. So my dance school always comes first."

Shiamak Davar recently choreographed for Shah Rukh Khan's Television show 'India Poochega - Sabse Shyaana Kaun?'.

In Celebration of Shiamak in the Movies!

Shiamak is known as the Guru of Dance, and has choreographed some of the best dance pieces for stage and screen. He truly has an eye for creating incredible creativity with his choreography on screen and we know you will enjoy watching every one.

‘Dhoom Again’ – Dhoom 2

The huge success of Dhoom 2 helped to solidify Hrithik Roshan’s career and no doubt his remarkable dance performance in the opening song ‘Dhoom Again’ showed him at his finest. Shiamak was of course responsible for the jaw-dropping choreography that can be seen throughout the song. It’s bold, edgy and something which we have never really seen in Bollywood before. Kudos to Shiamak on giving the song a big ‘dhoom!’

Salman angered by Subhash Ghais students

Salman angered by Subhash Ghais students
Salman Khan, who is known for being outspoken about his thoughts, recently vented out his ire at a group of students at Subhash Ghai's film school Whistling Woods. Apparently, when Salman went to meet the Showman at his acting school, he noticed that a group of students paid no heed to Ghai, as he walked passed them. It was the underlying disrespect of not acknowledging an industry senior, especially with the credentials which Ghai has, that angered Salman. On noticing this, Salman, true to his straight forward and blunt style, chided the students and gave them a crash course in manners. He asked them why they didn't stand up in respect on seeing Ghai, when Salman himself does so when he meets Ghai. Currently, Subhash Ghai is working on his soon to release film Kaanchi that stars newcomer Mishti and Kartik Tiwari. Interestingly, the film which will also mark

Desperate for a directorial hit since the 1999 Aishwarya Rai-starrer Taal, Bollywood’s original ‘showman’ Subhash Ghai will be back to film direction with a multi-starrer this year.

“Art and commerce – both are involved when I think of making a film. If the film is too arty and cannot be made for the general audience, then I have to think twice,” he said when asked about what kind of a film he is about to direct.

A member of the Kaanchi team tells us, “It was a very emotional moment for Subhashji.

The Oscar-winning director sent Ewan McGregor storming down a Scotland street for Trainspotting to Iggy Pop, while Cillian Murphy wandered through the deserted streets of London in 28 Days Later to the eerie sound of Godspeed You! Black Emperor.

Boyle's latest movie Trance is an equally memorable sonic experience, as the director continues his working relationship with Underworld's Rick Smith. To mark the film's release, Digital Spy has picked out 10 great songs or musical tracks from Danny Boyle's back catalogue.
