Four young psychotic individuals are sentenced to St. Michael's Penitentiary for the criminally insane. These four patients are convinced that the only way to appreciate the mental tortures of a psychologically disturbed person is to be in their shoes and live in their mind. Their goal is to completely reverse roles with the doctors physically, emotionally and mentally leaving them with no other "choice," but to empathize by experiencing the exploration of the insane.
