Pretty solid, by-the-numbers comedy. Much better than Kevin James' last effort. Season 1 ends with unfortunate predictability - give it all time to develop, man. Net...not a waste of time and a show I'll tune into when S2 runs.
Not sure why there is so much hate going on in the reviews for this show. It isn't exactly going to tax your old grey cells, or cause you to pull a muscle from laughing, but its not terrible. It is a standard, mass-produced US sitcom. Not clever, not laugh out loud funny but a perfectly good 30 min (ish) distraction from the unbelievable horrors of the real world in 2020.
Its mildly witty, good family fun in a similar vein to Home Improvement or Roseanne.
Don't expect to much, and if you find yourself with a gap in your evening viewing schedule give it a go.

Interesting premise and kevin james is very funny but the laugh track is an anachronism that completely ruins the viewers' ability to enjoy the show on their own terms. The writing and acting is good enough to not need a laugh track. Please get rid of it for season 2. Laugh tracks take away an actor's power. I hope Kevin James can convince the producers to get rid of the laugh track.
I wasn't sure what to think about this particular show when I saw that it was premiering on Netflix but being that it stars Kevin James I'd give it a shot. It does not disappoint. For anyone really missing the former "King of Queens" star and wishing as much as I did that he would make a return back to primetime television.. this is the next best thing.
The humor is spot on. The supporting cast and crew very talented. The spin on the whole idea of a Nascar crew workplace comedy is definitely unique and I can't recall it ever being done on TV before.. but it is slightly reminiscent of the movie.. The Ballad of Ricky Bobby.
All in all this is definitely worth the watch. The half hour long episodes are easy to watch and it's easy to burn through Season 1 quickly. I quite enjoy it and I'm glad Kevin James is here. It's definitely entertaining to the core. If I could change any one thing.. perhaps I would bring Leah Remini in as a reoccurring character as a Nascar Rival team owner or something along those lines just as an added treat to the inner-King of Queens fan that exists in most of us.
