Certainly I watched Chacun son cinéma and I wrote my comment for it but I did not mention all the short films. Chacun son cinéma offered to me more good things than bad things, it is a case in which you have what for me is a terrific short film (i.e. Beat Takeshi's One Fine Day) but also what for me is a complete disappointment and a waste of time (i.e. Gus Van Sant's First Kiss) then I thought that by only mentioning that the complete film is inconsistent I could write only about those short films that I loved and that I did. So Recontre unique certainly should have been mentioned in my comment for Chacun son cinéma since I really liked it but I'm just realizing about the fact that Recontre unique was released independently so here I'm writing few words about it.

I think it was selected for Chacun son cinéma because it is a tribute to the silent films then the fact that it was released independently was not imaginable for me. Anyway, this is really funny, is a funny encounter, Nikita Khrushchev and the Pope John XXIII, comrade Pope for an instance and finally we see that both do have a thing in common! Certainly nothing quite relevant but certainly something that will make you laugh. Michel Piccoli is Nikita Khrushchev and Antoine Chappey is his assistant and both are a truly hilarious couple then I highly recommend this short film and also I'm just realizing that its director Manoel Oliveira also directed Belle toujours (also with Michel Piccoli as protagonist), I didn't really liked that film then with Recontre unique Oliveira (who's films are still is quite unknown for me) has given to me 3 minutes of pure enjoyment!
