Big Brother

Modifier

Résumés

  • In this season finale, after giving the jury an unapologetic speech, the charismatic doctor, Will Kirby, wins Big Brother 2.

Synopsis

  • In this episode, Julie announces that the former evicted houseguests have all returned to discuss, deliberate and finally to determine who they will crown the Winner of Big Brother 2. She asks who would have ever expected that Will, who was nominated 3 times, and Nicole, who was nominated the first week in the house, to survive and be in the final 2. A recap is given of how they made it this far. In the diary room, Will says, "I came into this house saying I was going to lie and that's exactly what I did. If you got burned in this house it's your own fault. Too bad, so sad." He also says, "the smartest thing I've done in this game was to falsely befriend Nicole." Nicole says, "the only reason I'm sitting here now is because I was in alliances and/or teams." Will continues, "I've been nominated more than anyone in this house. I knew I had a crazy philosophy coming in and that was to try to lose everything." Nicole remarks how Will constantly went around saying, "I'm no competitor. What, am I going to win HOH next week?" Will says, "I've already won this game. In my mind I accomplished all my goals and this has been a great experience for me." Nicole says, "I should win this game because I never lied to anybody, which he (Will) did a billion times. I'm not Beelzebub and he is."

Julie introduces some pre-taped footage of the 9 evicted houseguests as they came together to air out their own personal differences and speak about the two finalists. Mike asks the group, "can you believe Nicole and Will? Think about the first few days. And all of us are sitting here and they're in there?" Sheryl adds, "he was the one that I knew everybody had to get out of there and everybody kept him in there." Mike expresses how "it baffles me. Every day I wake up and I just go, how is Will still in this house?" The opinions on the jury are mixed. Krista states that she doesn't feel that either one of them deserve to win, while Monica says that both of them do. It's a game. Mike laughs and says he thinks they'll be saying "it's a game" a lot as they deliberate. Everyone laughs. Hardy says that, "Will is probably one of the most conniving, mischievous, deceitful people I have ever met." Monica declares, "they will both reap what they sow."

Julie returns to explain that recently the 9 evicted houseguests were given a chance to ask both Will and Nicole one question apiece and while they could hear the jury, neither of them could see them. Sheryl announces to them that "the real power is up for grabs." Various questions are posed to the the 2 finalists as to why they deserve to win. Nicole answers that she did her best and worked hard and tried to be as considerate and as truthful as she was allowed to be in the game concluding, "I was more truthful than him." Will answers the same question, "I don't really know if I have a great argument here. If I was watching, I don't really know if I'd want to keep myself. I will say that I came in the house to lie. I came into the house to mix things up and I did exactly that."

In her summation, Nicole says that she came into the house with the strategy of being herself and that got shot to pieces in the first week and it turned into a war after that. She tried to be as honest and truthful as she could be but made some poor decisions and feels others made poor decisions too and she's only human. She said it's stupid, dumb luck that she's sitting in the finals and that she learned a lot from each houseguest and the experience and now just wants to go home to see her husband.

In Wills summation, he stands up to address his evicted housemates and says, "I could stand before you today and talk about apologies. I could talk about remorse. I could talk about regrets but there's two reasons I'm not going to. One, I think at this point it would be ingenuine and two, that's just not me. I know some people out there are not happy with the way the show went down and they blame that on me. But the simple fact of the matter is if you're not happy with this show, maybe you're not happy with reality based tv in general. If you're not happy with reality based tv, maybe you're not happy with, as the name suggests, reality. So if you're not happy with me it just might be yourself you're not happy with. So don't place all the blame of this on me. Everyone needs to look within themselves. When we came in this house, that first night it was all smiles. Everyone held up a glass and put some champagne in it and we all had a toast: for the establishment of friendship on a firmer and more lasting basis. Did you all do that? Look around the room. You all need to learn to love each other and we need to all get along a lot better. On that note, I bid you a fond farewell and I look forward to seeing you all very soon." The jury is stunned by Will's unapologetic speech and many express privately that they feel it was egotistical and condescending and that he hurt himself and ruined his chances of winning the game.

Julie welcomes all the evicted houseguests back as they commence with the live show where Julie asks some personal questions about each one. In a surprising twist to all, Mike proposes to Krista to which she replies yes. It is then time for the houseguests to re-enter the Big Brother house and reunite with Will and Nicole. In the living room, the voting box is placed on the table before them. Each houseguest has placed in the box the name of the key of the person whom they have chosen to win. Julie then says that both finalists are given the power to eliminate one houseguest's vote of their choosing. Will chooses to disqualify Bunky's vote to which Bunky tells him that he chose wisely because he voted for Nicole and he wanted his vote to not only be a vote for Nicole to win but a vote for Will to lose and then unleashes some insults towards him, to which Will calmly replies, "I understand."

Nicole chooses Shannon's vote to nullify and she tells Nicole that she chose wisely also as she had voted for Will to win. The rest of the voting continues and Julie explains that no matter what they will go through all the votes. Autumn votes for Nicole. Krista votes for Will and calls him a "puppetmaster, baby." Hardy votes for Nicole. Mike votes for Will. He said they both played a great game but Will played a better game and loyalty is one of the most important things to him and "Chill Town, baby." Kent votes for Will but expresses that this game pales in comparison to the anguish the American people have been going through. He states that he thought Will played the best. Sheryl gives Will the winning vote but they finish out the votes. Monica stands and says that Will played an excellent game and she's not mad at him and voted for him saying, "Congratudamnlations!" With a big smile on his face, Will stands up to hug his housemates as they all congratulate him and then they leave the house to see their awaiting family members. Nicole hugs her husband and Will hugs his brother, Ian, as he says, "I'm so happy, let's party!"

In the concluding moments, Julie speaks in the studio with the newly crowned Winner of Big Brother 2 and of the half a million dollar grand prize, Dr. Will Kirby, and the second runner up and $50 000 prize, Nicole Nilson Shaffrich. Will tells Julie that to him this show was a lot of fun and a good summer even though he knows that some people were relying on it for financial freedom and that he was just going to have a good time with his winnings. When asked if Nicole is mad that Will won she says, "absolutely not. I think I agree with everyone else who said he played a better game than me. He absolutely did. He came in here with the most off the wall, ridiculous, ludicrous strategy and it worked and so my hat's off to him." Julie says that Will told so many lies in the house and the Big Brother staff all had their own favourite lie that he told and asked him what was his own favourite. He said "it was the time he lied about getting kicked out of the Air Force Academy for a fight in the mess hall, and getting arrested at Disney World for beating up Goofy, and killing someone with a piano wire and being sent to juvenile detention for a year." Julie then names each houseguest and asks for one word apiece that describes them. She concludes with asking Nicole about Will to which she answers "very smart, incredibly intelligent" while Will says of Nicole, "I cant' say it in one word. I have nothing but wonderful things to say about Nicole. I knew a long time ago that she was a really strong person and that's why I jumped on her coat tails and rode it as long as I could." Julie thanks them both as they thank her in return.
