Guy: Wow, almost made you laugh.
Wendy: No you didn't. I was almost laughing at something I heard the other day.
Guy: Oh, yeah? So what is it? I like to laugh.
Wendy: In the middle of the night, this man thought that he was drinking water, but he accidentally drank battery acid and died.
Guy: That is funny! That reminds me of this funny story I heard about this woman who found her husband in bed with another woman and shot herself.

User Reviews

As good as the original
12 May 2015 | by cheroldSee all my reviews

I used to love Love American style when I was a kid, and when this pilot for a revival turned up on TV, I watched it and was delighted that it was just as good as the original.

It was, as best I can recall (and it was 25 years ago, so I don't recall much) both as funny as the original show and had the surprising depth relative to other multi-story comedies like The Love Boat.

Alas, the powers that be didn't appreciate the show, which is a terrible shame. Ultimately the show is one of those tragic could-have-beens. Perhaps it was the wrong show for the time, or perhaps network executives are idiots (my theory). Ah well.
