HD audio distortion, Los Angeles TWC
16 October 2007 | by See all my reviews

I only watch time-shifted (ie recorded) HD television. In two separate (simultaneous) recordings of this episode, there was a major problem with the audio (5.1). There was a rhythmic signal amplitude variation, whose rate appeared to be unrelated to the program content. FYI: Commercial breaks and promos during the show as well as the preceding program, "The Unit", were normal indicating the problem might have originated in the show's playback source (ie HD videotape or server). I like the show because of Jimmy Smits and Hector Elizondo's performances, as well as the beautiful women featured. I have reservations about the Alex role's moral character after his choice to have a person executed. My signal provider is Time Warner Los Angeles (Tujunga head-end).
