Best friends and hardcore partiers Sam, Alice and Prune have scored invitations to 'Medici Night', the legendary VIP bash held every year at a remote castle. But when they discover that this wild party is being thrown by an elite race of blood-crazed vampires, they'll have to stake, stab, slice, bludgeon and blast their way out of a soiree where the hosts are thirsty and the bar is now open. Is it in bad taste to massacre a horde of undead guests even if they are a total pain in the neck? Tchéky Karyo of BAD BOYS fame stars in this sex, blood and rock & roll blowout featuring music by Eagles Of Death Metal, Goldfrapp, The Magic Numbers, Benjamin Diamond, Scratch Massive, Ghostcat and more. I can see, why quite a few people didn't like it. This movie is indeed silly. But if you endorse it's silliness (is that a word?), than you will a very amusing and entertaining movie here, that does not pull any puns (or strays away from red stuff).
Most of the characters on hand here might not be really likable, but contrary to other movies, this still kinda works in favor of the movie. The only really recognizable face being that of Tcheky K. in the movie for me, this also worked quite well. The actors did a well enough job of portraying characters that are meant to be almost one sided. But the dialogue and the situations they get involved in, have a really independent feel and spirit to it, that I just couldn't help myself but just love this movie.
It's a great little low budget movie that could (and did). Hopefully you won't take it too seriously and just enjoy it for what it is. A very entertaining low budget genre picture, with quite a few cool ideas.
