Six episodes showing how wildlife and society live side by side in Britain today. Some excellent camera work, commentary and music make it a very watchable series. Starting in "Deepest Winter" it slowly progresses through the seasons all over the British Isles. Two episodes deal with summertime, followed by Autumn then the series ends with a view of the countryside returning to its winter sleep. It is set at the turn of the century in 1999 starting and ending with the chimes of Big Ben as Midnight arrives. Samuel West provides the velvet voice-over for the whole series. The music, written by Brian Bennett (The Shadows drummer from 1961) complements the photography perfectly.
Such a shame that it is not available readily on DVD.
