Inspired by true events, Eddie the Eagle is a feel-good story about Michael "Eddie" Edwards (Taron Egerton), an unlikely but courageous British ski-jumper who never stopped believing in himself - even as an entire nation was counting him out. With the help of a rebellious and charismatic coach (played by Hugh Jackman), Eddie takes on the establishment and wins the hearts of sports fans around the world by making an improbable and historic showing at the 1988 Calgary Winter Olympics. From producers of Kingsman: The Secret Service, Eddie the Eagle stars Taron Egerton as Eddie, the loveable underdog with a never say die attitude. Written by 20th Century Fox

Trivia

Three actors portray Eddie 'The Eagle' Edwards. They are: Tom Costello as the ten year old Eddie, Jack Costello as the fifteen year old Eddie, and Taron Egerton as the adult Eddie. See more »

Goofs

During several of Eddie's jumps and most notably his final 90m attempt, the advertisement on the underside of Eddie's skis changes during the jump as the camera shot cuts back twice in a slow motion shot. The advertisement changes from "Fischer" to "fleuge.de", both of which are commonly seen on modern day jumping skis, not on skis of the time. See more »

Quotes

Bronson Peary: Let's face it, man, you've done the hardest part which is actually having the guts to do it, right? Most people take one look at it and walk away forever. Not Eddie Edwards.

Go see it, better than 90 percent of the garbage out there

Saw this movie at an advance screening and Eddie the Eagle was awesome.

The movie did not disappoint at all.

Great insight into the story of Eddie Edwards and the sport of ski jumping.

Very dangerous sport but very beautiful to look at.

The movie had a lot of heart and humor.

Will look forward to this movie making its way on Blu-ray.

I would gladly pay to add it to my collection.

Great visuals as well.

I wish the movie gets the praise it deserves as it really is better than a lot of the trash coming thru movie theaters now.
