When the agents are initially searching for the kids, and they see them get into Jack's cab the lead agent, Burke, requests "Synchronous satellite feed! Get me a license plate." even though the cab number (1975) is clearly visible on the bumper. With that cab number they wouldn't NEED a license plate, as they'd have the cabs low-jack location data and radio frequencies, and could track it in real-time from the cab company's office (as the dispatcher did when he called Jack on his way out of town). During the credits Jack & Alex are seen promoting a book they collaborated on concerning their past experience's (with Harlan and his help amongst the crowd). Outside they climb into '68 Mustang, only to notice the transmitter going off, indicating a reunion with Seth & Sara. See more »
I think its nice that Kim Richards and Ike Eisenmann have cameos in the film as a waitress and sheriff, they were the kids in the 1975 original. I remember my mother taking me to see it when I was seven. This is an all right film but the original was so much better. Dwayne Johnson (formally known as the Rock)takes over Eddie Albert's part as the earthman who befriends the two young aliens, the difference is that Eddie Albert could act a lot better! One thing I have to say about this film is that its certainly not boring! I would have loved to have seen the special effects budget. It has enough explosions and car chases for three films.
